Florida AD Says They Would Schedule UCF "In The Right Situation"

Well we are willing to schedule Florida. Doesn't look like Florida is willing to schedule us at this point. They haven't found a place where it would make sense to play us.

But they did find the right time and place to play Charleston Southern.

UCF isn't most non major programs. Usually, G5 team success is a one off. We aren't a one off.

That's the kind of attitude that is the problem. UCF isn't a major program. They keep playing a non major schedule, and then expect the major programs to just give them a home and home. It doesn't work like that.

Army and Tulane have been major programs. Championship programs even. The US service teams, in any event, have always gotten respect, and I think deservedly so.

Hawaii gets the occasional home and home because the kids like going there to play. Not exactly the same as mid central Florida.

We are willing to wait, but we keep getting told that we don't schedule tough enough P5 teams, yet when we reach out to those tougher P5 teams, we get told no. So what does everyone expect the program to do?

The problem is UCF thinks that they are a major player in the G5’s and they aren’t. You have had two good season. That doesn’t make you Boise State. You have a small stadium and won’t be able to pay anywhere near what a team can make at a home game. So what you are asking for is for Florida to lose multi million dollars so that they can do charity for a mid major who may or may not be decent.

Florida said they may do a one and done at their stadium, either UCF agrees or they don’t.

2017 they played Michigan in Texas. A true out of state road game another 25+ years. The only other home and home Florida is willing to do is Miami.

This. If UCF wants that kind of respect, they have to work at. A perfect example is FSU. When Bowden took over they were thought of similarly as UCF is now. They put in the years of scheduling “big” schools even if it was only a one off road game. They didn’t demand home/home until they were well established and could do so.

A couple of good seasons doesn’t establish you as a powerhouse. UCF reminds me of the typical millennial, they want the reward without the work.

And I’ll save you part of your cliche response, yeah Tennessee sucks right now. But we have a history and have no issues with big teams scheduling home/home series.

Stanford found a way to schedule us when they were a top 15 team, what's Florida's problem? I'm asking for Florida to do what other P5 schools have done the last few years. Schedule us and settle this whole "UCF is nothing" debate on the football field.

First the UF AD is full of shit.

With the exception of FSU or Miami...they haven't scheduled
a home and home series against anybody in 32 years. (and that
was Rutgers)

UCF could schedule home and home with Miami. They could also
try Miss St and Ole Miss. Ole Miss played a home and home with
Wyoming. Miss St took a single game at South Alabama.

Illinois would probably go home and home with them. Rutgers
would. They need to play who they can get. And then fight
to get somebody good on the schedule on the road.

They always book way in advance but Notre Dame would do a
Home and Neutral site with them. (They would come to Orlando
but want to play at the Citrus Bowl Stadium and be given 35K
tickets)

So because they won 3 SEC titles in the early 30s and late 40s, they are a major football program? Are we completely forgetting that they have been in 4 bowl games since 1988 and this is the first year they didn't finish lower than 3rd in their conference since 1998? We are just completely forgetting recent success or lack thereof because of their success in the 30s and 40s?
