Not sure that Hooper is worthy of being the highest paid TE in the game.

Wow heard that the Browns still believe in Njoku...I guess not. Hoop is great alternative option or maybe double a TE set could be dangerous but $11M/year?? They have the money and it doesn't look like they are paying their LB's Schobert and Kirksey....gonna roll with the young LB's. Still gotta make OL the highest priority

So with that signing the Browns still have $53M, if I am correct. I think they plan on cutting Oliver Vernon and Chris Hubbard and maybe Sheldon Richardson. That would be another $22.7M and $13.6M if Sheldon got cut. They could have a potential cap space of close to $90M. Hubbard needs to be replaced especially at that $7M, wouldn't be sad if either Vernon and/or Sheldon went as well...it's just about finding suitable replacements though.

It's still very early and it could change but initial Twitter scuttlebutt is they still intend to keep Njoku and run a lot of 2 TE sets.

I don't think I would call Hooper the top player at his position. Very good TE but a bit of an overpay, imo. Drives the market up for the position, for sure. Kittle's agent must be licking his chops.

Doesn't matter he won't have an NFL QB throwing to him now.

PFF rated him the most overrated TE. They said he only was productive bc he took what the defense gave him. The good thing for him is he goes to from a team that had weapons to another team that has weapons..so if anything he can productive just bc too many guys to cover lol. Still the Browns overpaid even with all their cap space.

Not me...ATL has long felt Hooper was a big fish in a small pond and conceded him to FA a month ago stating they couldn't afford him.

Definitely not cheap...I thought NE would be the team, but until they get the QB settled...a FA TE doesn't make sense.

shouldn't they fix their o-line first?

Still should be and is first priority...I'm sure they are talking to targets. Hooper just couldn't pass up this deal and I can see why lol.

49ers were actually looking into signing Hooper but the price was too high, especially having Kittle, rare to see two TE's get big money

I heard SF bailed pretty early but they were in the mix...another Falcon draft pick of the Shanny era as OC.
