I defy anyone to show me a better stretch than OSU in 2014/2015 against Wisconsin, Bama and Oregon (#2, 4, 13). That team also won by 12 on the road @ the #5 team.

:pound:

Let me just pull up the '94/'95 stretch real quick, or do I even need to...

Have a seat.

They're in the same air as the Bulls of the 90's and Tommy was their Jordan.

We beat #2, 3 and 5 by an average score of 44-30 and beat #13 by 59. And this is in an age of actual parity in college football.

7. Kansas State
9. Kansas

62-24
44-21
49-25
41-3

Parity. And shit.

- 27 Huskers on the '95 squad alone earned a spot on an NFL roster.

- Averaged 400 rushing yards per game while giving up 78 per game to opponents.

- Averaged a division 1 record 7 yards per rushing attempt for the entire season including the championship game

- Gave up zero quarterback sacks

- Tied an NCAA record allowing only 5 punt returns the entire season for a net gain of 12 yards

- 38 point margin of victory for the entire season. 6 touchdown margin per game, the most since WWII despite resting most of its starters in the 2nd half.

- Averaged 53.2 points per game and allowed only 14.5 points per game.

- As OC pointed out, beat four teams that finished in the final AP Top Ten rankings – national runner-up Florida (62-24), No. 5 Colorado (44-21), No. 7 Kansas State (49-25) and No. 9 Kansas (41-3).

That's a combined 30 point margin of victory against 4 schools in the final top ten.

Nick Saban has said that the greatest Running Back he's ever seen in person was Lawrence Phillips, and the only one that compared was Eric Dickerson.

There's gonna be an amazing doc on him on the 16th.

I think it'll eventually be up on Netflix after it airs for a while.

Where any of you posters alive then? I mean back when Nebraska was legit?

I was 8 for the '95 season. Remember all of it. I've seen so many replays of the title game, you could play it for me and I could tell you exactly how the drive was going to go. I could tell you what play we were going to run and how long it would go for or who would make a play on defense on any down and distance.

I was at the game.

The Florida chomp, the cockiness of their crowd.

The honestly didn't think they would get beat.

The Nebraska fans have already schooled you on this, but for the record any playoff winner is going to have a similar road, the only reason for your playoff opponents to be higher ranked is because you didn't beat them bad enough...last year Mich St dropped to 6. The winner of close playoff games should probably always leave their opponents in the 2 and 4 spot and any decent conference should have their runner up ranked...unless of course their best team isn't in the CCG...so, congrats on being average.

How 'bout Alabama in 2011, we had to play the #1 team twice...too soon?

IDK, it's always hard to compare national title winning teams. With that said, I think it's hard to argue that the current Alabama thing going on is the best dynasty in the modern era of football.

Kansas was the 9th ranked team that year. That says it all.

You can't beat 01 Miami, that team was so stacked with NFL talent.

Notre Dame beat #2 Miami, #4 Michigan, #5 WVU and #7 USC in 1988. That's pretty damn impressive considering there was no BCS/CFP back then. With that said I don't think they're the greatest team or anything, but based on resume, you'd be hard pressed to find one better.

Agree 100%.
OU to the B1G???

The OU fans don't want it. The academics are top notch but there is too much cold weather and there would only be a few teams anyone would care to travel to go watch us play. There are some seriously dud football schools in the Big 10 that excite no one at Oklahoma. We'd prefer the Pac12. Better weather, a boon to recruiting and it would give the fans more interesting games to go see on the road. If that happened, we would hope to see Nebraska on a regular basis in the Rose Bowl or in the CFP. Now that would be fun!
