Obviously the Heat would have to dump some salary. Whom or what?
Who knows?
Yeah, the Heat, Butler and his agent must be at least fairly confident that they can create the space to sign him...otherwise, why would either side waste their time?

I am saying you are not looking at reality if you think the Heat can go from so far over the cap with guys that have so much negative value to 30M+ under the cap.Whoaa.
Ive never said that I’d sell the farm to get Butler.
Id have to see end deal before offering an opinion.
Im saying if he wants to come, the Heat will find a way whether Philly is involved or not if they really want him.

it amazes me how people just ignore plain and simple math.Yeah, the Heat, Butler and his agent must be at least fairly confident that they can create the space to sign him...otherwise, why would either side waste their time?

Heat wouldn't meet with Butler if they didn't think a deal would be made.

actually I think its pretty difficult to understand--- what if the Sixers say--- sure go for it Jimmy--- go to the Heat or Rockets--- 2 teams with no cap room- go fuck yourself and sign for the mid level.
then what?
Then he can't sign obviously lol
it amazes me how people just ignore plain and simple math.
The cap is 109
Onlyk- 11.7
Whiteside- 27.1
Anderson- 21.2
Dragic- 19.2
JJohnson- 15.1
Winslow- 13.0
Onlyk- 11.7
Waiters- 12.1
Richardson- 10.1
Adebayo- 3.5
= 144.7
to get max cap space they need to get down to 77m.
How do you shave $67.7M off of the cap with no first rounder to trade until 2023?
They don't have to make space but if Jimmy basically says "I'm not signing with you regardless" turning down J Rich for example would be kinda crazy.
I don't know how they do it and intimated as much in my post.
Maybe the Heat have a blueprint on how thy can get it done that they chose to share with Butler and his agent instead of you?
As I said, maybe both sides think the Heat can get it done. Otherwise, why would either side waste their time.
Perhaps Butler is willing to help them out by taking a little less than his full max. I don't know how much truth there was to it, but there was a rumor that he was willing to do that for the Lakers.
I'm surprised more FA's aren't interested in Miami. They could hangout w/ Gonzalo Le Bartard.

If Philly can get back an asset like Richardson and an expiring contract, that is definitely better for them than Butler walking. So I think Philly might be willing to work something out even if the return was minimal.
By doing a sign and trade Miami can operate above the cap as long as they deal for similar salary.
