watched the finale last night. It did not disappoint at all. I like the Sopranos-esque ending with "is someone going to come through that door or not?"

Don't know yet. It got postponed indefinitely because of covid-19. They still hadn't finished some post-production stuff when the studios got shut down. When the studios open up, FX said they'll announce a new premiere date

I believe they do the alien thing to emphasize that this is fiction and not a true story because they don't want viewers to actually believe the BS/joke graphic at the beginning of the episodes proclaiming 'this is a true story'.
