I thought the old man with the noodle arm couldn't make the throws any more and Evans was gonna suck this year.....
Mike Evans did post career low, or near career low numbers across the board, except TD's, and was far from the "elite" Mike Evans he wasView attachment 264455

I'd say we knew Brady would spread it out more than Winston coming into the season, expecting yards to go down and TDs to go up.
Evans still finished 11th in total pts and 14th in ppg (better than Godwin in ppg too) for WRs in fantasy.
His ceiling is lower with Brady, but low end WR1/high end WR2 is one hell of a floor after finishing as one of the top WRs the previous year with a different QB.
Excited to see what Brady/Evans connection does next year, especially if Godwin leaves in free agency
Might depend on scoring systems, but, in D2 (ppr) for instance, Godwin 15.8 ppg, Evans 15.5, old school (1/2 ppr) Evans 13.6, Godwin 13.7, , Bandits, (1/2 ppr w/ big play bonus) Evans 13.4, Godwin 13.2, , D1 (std), Evans 11.2, Godwin 10.5.
Minimal differences, and depending on how it's setup, Godwin was better, or worse than Evans.
Regardless, they both got effed in the A, consistency-wise, by Bradys hard on for AB.
I don't think subscribing to eliminating selective weeks is worthy of painting an accurate picture of what a guy did or didn't do on the field. Can we also eliminate the two games played where he missed roughly half the snaps? If "most" Evans owners weren't in the finals week 16, can we say his 40+ points that week shouldn't count? Start going down a slippery slope of manipulating data to achieve a desired outcome at that point.take out week 17, since most fantasy leagues are finished at wk16
PPR: Evans 16.1 (WR12 overall) / Godwin 14.6
half PPR: Evans 13.8 (WR9 overall) / Godwin 11.9
Std: Evans 11.6 (WR7 overall) / Godwin 9.2
and he does stuff like this to show he wants to keep winning

But it's excluding 16 games, all of which count in the standings, the stat sheets, records, future projections, the players get paid for it, the numbers achieved count towards their performance bonuses, the official points scored by any relevant fantasy source include them...but here, it fits your narrative, so your going with it. It's pretty shady math that only applies IF your particular league doesn't use week 17...plenty of leagues do use week 17, or a combination of 16 & 17...and it definitely happened, and was officially recorded.wk1-wk16 every year, no changing which weeks are included/excluded, just exclude week 17 every year to align with the vast majority of fantasy leagues. not manipulating data or being selective, just analyzing the pts according to the available scoring periods of the contest.

BTW, did you exclude Brady's week 17 in the above meme praising his stats?
I can get behind something like that in an depth discussion..such as Ronnie Jones' week 10..such an odd outlier that only came about because of one 98 yard play. That week's tally isn't indicative in any way of his play all year long, and if discussing Jones' performance in 2020 or prospects going forward, I would get why someone wouldn't lend credence to the numbers accrued that game. But Godwin week 17 wasn't fluky, it's not a huge outlier in the season or his career, not anymore so than Evans week 16..I just don't get why the need to make the point is so important that "dirty pool" is the chosen tactic.

Anyways-
Marriott to the Pat's??? That'd be interesting, and it'd be the second time in recent history the Raiders effed up trading a guy to NE.
Ha, no he isn't a great thrower, and trying not to read much into his spot duty this past season..but...he did look damned good, for that one game. Good enough that I was hoping he'd get one more shot and let Carr take another week off.Would be very interesting, he looked rejuvenated in his limited action this year in Gruden's system. Also, after having Cam, the Pats are familiar with a QB that isn't a great thrower (jk)
Not sure who they'll have at QB, but the Patriots will compete for the division title next year. They are getting all their Covid guys back on defense, will have some decent rookies coming in (pick 15 overall right now), and probably an easier schedule as well after finishing 3rd in the division.
Yeah but he has the right kind of coaching there to help and since the Pats have some cap space it is likely they will add some weapons. But he needs a strong support cast, something a little lacking in NE these days
McDaniels could likely scheme some pretty effective scripts. I agree they'll add something, just hope it's WR's, I think Harris can be awfully effective if the defense ever has to bother defending a pass again.Yeah but he has the right kind of coaching there to help and since the Pats have some cap space it is likely they will add some weapons.
I have to imagine there was a trade a possibility the Texans could've pursued. This can't possibly bode well for Watson staying around, or maybe even sitting out if they refuse the trade requestTexans just released JJ Watt. I bet he goes to play with his brother in Pitt
Lets hope cheap wed have all. 3Texans just released JJ Watt. I bet he goes to play with his brother in Pitt
no one wanted that massive cap hit. He will stil command solid money. He was still very good on an awful defense last year.I have to imagine there was a trade a possibility the Texans could've pursued.
