Yes - that Baltimore will overpay him.Odell to Baltimore? Interesting. Not sure why he would pick a place where there is uncertainty at QB. You think he knows something that we don't?
The folks who write their narratives for the NBC Edge seem to connect signing OBJ with extending an olive branch to Lamar.Odell to Baltimore? Interesting. Not sure why he would pick a place where there is uncertainty at QB. You think he knows something that we don't?
Bateman>Easter was good to someone!
Ravens signed Odell Beckham Jr., formerly of the Rams, to a one-year contract worth "up to" $18 million with $15 million in guarantees.
The wideout who has had an incredibly difficult time signing a contract off a torn ACL suffered 14 months ago and the NFL team that has played chicken with the top of the wideout market for the entirety of Lamar Jackson's rookie contract make for an inevitable-feeling fit. The Ravens reportedly upped their offer before he could visit with the Jets tomorrow, and Beckham apparently felt respected enough to take the deal. It's hard not to understand him signing given the $13.8 million signing bonus he's taking down. This contract could make it more difficult for the Ravens to keep Jackson if a team wishes to make a more aggressive push for a deal Baltimore can't match. It could also be precisely the olive branch the Ravens need to convince Jackson to stay. Beckham's 2023 fantasy value is tied directly to Lamar Jackson's contract situation, but if Jackson does come back and Beckham enters 2023 as Baltimore's No. 1 wideout, he would probably be at least a WR2 in fantasy leagues.
I dunno...maybe. depends on what OBJ has left. Bateman ain't bad, but I didn't see a whole lot to get too excited about. That being said, Beckham could be a shell of what he was. That run with the Rams, specifically the playoffs/SB, he definitely still had plenty left. But he may very well be nearing his end.Bateman>
I think obj is gonna be a shell of himself. He may look ok if hes peppered with targets. But bateman needs to prove himself too hes been beat up injury wise as well. Regardless should be a shit show all yearI dunno...maybe. depends on what OBJ has left. Bateman ain't bad, but I didn't see a whole lot to get too excited about. Bateman has his own injury comeback to deal with as well.
Touch call, I think OBJ has to be given the nod with the pedigree, today. But tomorrow, when both are playing, not rehabbing, you may very well be right
Lamar has 17 completions per game as a starter while Stafford had 24 per game in 2021 after OBJ joined the Rams - and OBJ caught 1/6 of them. That doesn't project well for OBJ with Lamar - 50 catches if he lasts a full season.I was thinking about this. Everyone says obj showed he has it still with the rams. Did he? He avg like 4 catches a game. Decent but nothing worth while. Yes i know kupp was going nuts, but thats not showing
Much. On top of that, another injury missing an entire year…
Yeah, that one game, 2 years ago….and multiple injuries since…i get it?…Yeah…lolLamar has 17 completions per game as a starter while Stafford had 24 per game in 2021 after OBJ joined the Rams - and OBJ caught 1/6 of them. But the idea might be that Lamar has never had a receiver like OBJ and would feed him. That's not crazy. OBJ did have 9 catches on 11 targets in a 2021 playoff game.
There were rumors that was the market for him was 15 mill and that the jets considered thatI just can't believe they gave him $15 million guaranteed. What the hell were they thinking? There's no way that any other team offered anything even close to that. I agree with Wil that the reason he's going there is because they overpaid him and for no other reason.
Well the only reason the Jets might have considered that is because he was on that spoiled ass prima donna's list of guys he wanted, not because they actually wanted him.Yeah, that one game, 2 years ago….and multiple injuries since…i get it?…Yeah…lol

Well true. Very true. Glad someone else is now seeing what ive said about rodgers for years me first aaronWell the only reason the Jets might have considered that is because he was on that spoiled ass prima donna's list of guys he wanted, not because they actually wanted him.
Makes me think of something @TREFF said a few weeks back... (not that i am calling him out) but he said something to the effect that midwest Packer fans are laid back....Well true. Very true. Glad someone else is now seeing what ive said about rodgers for years me first aaron
It might give Lamar a face-saving way to go back to the table with the Ravens, and maybe that's why they did it?I just can't believe they gave him $15 million guaranteed. haha..well i was more referring to the media and the incessant 24/7 in your face coverage you'll likely find in New York/New Jersy, vs the relatively laid back midwestern reporters.Makes me think of something @TREFF said a few weeks back... I am closer to Packer territory than i want to be but i can tell you there are a great many Packer fans who are not happy with Rodgers.
When he took over things looked promising. Didnt he win a SB in his first or 2nd season as a starter? And despite being in one of the worst divisions in football, thats all Rodgers has to show is 1 SB.
Packer fans may give him some leash because of the wins. But for guy who was pretty much a lock.for a division title ans playoff birth each season, Rodgers has failed.
Believe me, Packer fans are well of this.
Yeah, NYC press coverage of star athletes is insane.haha..well i was more referring to the media and the incessant 24/7 in your face coverage you'll likely find in New York/New Jersy, vs the relatively laid back midwestern reporters.
I would never question the passion of a cheesehead fan
