You may be right but at some point he haa to perform. Hes been on a team lacking talent for a while, he should shine.

no i know.but man he is a really good running back.
Same as I said with Stevenson, yep BB is a hard ass, yep, you'll pay a price, but wins and losses are what he likes and hates more than anything. And he's not going to run out inferior players just to prove a point, at least not long term. Everything will settle once he gets the point across, and once they stop putting the ball on the ground

got a lot of Bryan Edwards across my leagues, last night was hopefully a sign of things to come, and not a flash in the pan

Im an edwards fan. Odd things about his 4 catches. He had zero catches until 30 seconds left in the game

I feel asleep during overtime and this was shocking to read. I didn't remember even 1 catch.

Like SP mentioned..he had all of one target through 3 and a half quarters. 2 catches in the 4th quarter, and 2 in OT.

As long as Carr is the QB, there is ZERO hope for Ruggs or Edwards to ever be anything but a desperation play. (Have I ever mentioned I hate Carr?)

when they needed plays at the end, Carr went his way.
rest of the game was as expected - mostly short stuff to Waller/Renfrow

you must really hate football if you fell asleep during that OT, it was one for the ages

No i agree. Just hard for me to draw on it. Obv he needs to build on it. You know that though too, in just stating the obvious.

I guess I can just go ahead and pencil Waller in for 20 targets every single week, cause there is no way that the target share alters at all after week 1, and we all know that teams never start to funnel more targets to guys that produce.

Raiders needed plays at the end of the game, Carr went Edwards way, Edwards made the plays.
That is pretty much what I would consider to be the blueprint for gaining more attention from your QB going forward.

We're talking about a end of bench/stash player...not someone who's locked into a starting lineup

saw about 24 total players have over 80rec yds in week 1, and Edwards was one of the 24, already better than most expected so far.

Well, 20 targets, in a game with OT, so basically 4 a quarter, yes you absolutely can, %100, take it to the bank, bet your house on it, that's not going to change, not with Carr at QB, not unless defenses completely sell out to eliminate him...in which case most of his slack goes to Renfrow running the same type of routes.

This is not a "Gus Edwards" situation where I just don't like the guy, this is watching virtually every play of every Raiders game since a decade ago..Carr will not throw outside the numbers unless forced to, period.

Appears it was. I have seen all the good parts since. And I was excited going into OT because if Jacobs ran a long one in for the win I would have had the weekly high score money... Next thing I knew I was watching the highlights.

Shit is on way too late for East Coast.

Checks the math...you got 270+ targets for Waller this season...TE1 season is here!

Well, he is a TE1, and I didn't express it clearly, but it's more of the target share percentage remaining constant than the raw numbers. 19 targets for Waller out of 56 is %34, I have zero doubts he'll consistently be on the 25-30+ percentage of however many targets Carr dishes out. I definitely don't expect Carr to throw 56 times very often, even in OT. Renfrow is gonna remain a high percentage, and it's obvious Drake will be receiving a large piece of the pie.

You know I love Edwards, and I really really WANT both he and Ruggs to be involved, heavily, so it's not for lack of desire, and I take no joy in pointing it out. But it is what it is. Carr threw 56 times, 5 to Edwards and 5 to Ruggs, the dude just doesn't utilize guys outside the numbers, hasn't ever since he got a hard on for Cook way back when. Even Aggie last year and his "career year"..88 targets, under 900 yards, only one game with ten or more targets (shockingly, one of his worst games, 4 catches 30 some yards).

Yes they are bench guys, they are roster worthy, especially in a dynasty format. But until Carr is gone, which can't happen fast enough, that's where they are, and every glimmer of hope is just a tease.

Was curious about most targets in a season...most by a TE. With the extra game I think Waller demolishes that almost 10 rpg average. I think he gets 13 rpg for 221 total

He might..the only thing stopping him is that the Raiders have no desire to base their offense on Carr throwing it a ton. I'm sure the gameplans, if they can stick to it from time to time, likely only have Carr throwing it 25-30 times, (for reference, Carr averaged 32 passes per game last year, 8+ of those went to Waller every week..on average) which still gets Waller and his %25+ target share 6-8 a game..which still puts him on pace to approach and/or eclipse Ertz's 156 (8 per game is 128 plus week 1's 19= 147). There is no other QB that can match Carr for TE friendly-ness.

I do think 13 per game is likely a stretch, because, as mentioned, the Raiders don't want Carr having to throw 40 times a game. Week one's 56 was not only a result of overtime, but also Jacob's being doubled over puking on the sidelines for 3/4's of the game. When he's %100, they'd much prefer a much more balanced attack. If they did ask Carr to throw it more often, Waller likely would've broken that record last year

Gruden is showing ruggs was a wasted pick. He doesnt know how to use him. Ruggs has a route tree.
