Why don't we have a running thread where people can ask for trade help/offer advice on deals. I know there are a bunch of random threads of people asking for advice but if we had one thread where that was done then it can all just be there (for the most part) and would encourage more activity/a place that promotes conversation/debate

You can try creating a thread for that purpose.
But my guess is ONE thread will not work well because people go off on tangents.
Or you may have multiple trade questions about the same intervals.

Yup, my experience has been that a lot folks avoid long on going threads on various subjects. Had one on the Seahawks board and cut it loose by popular demand by posters claiming they didn't even bother to click on it. Think folks like to create a thread on a subject to give it due attention.

I wish someone would keep track of all the 'breaking stories' from June to August. Just the other day I saw one that said A. Williams could very well be the lead back. Now he's in danger of getting cut. Same with Michael - he was gonna take over if Rawls isn't ready - now candidate for cut. .... Chris Johnson is going to beat out David, or David is the clear cut 3 down starter. I think the reporter and beat-writer get bored and just throw out crap to see if anything sticks. .... if they hit on one then they increase their reliability factor. ...

Anyone who believed Williams could be the lead back was on crack, he stinks
I was right there with Foot...2 years ago, and throughout that rookie year, but since then not so much. Still think he could be, but his style would dictate about 30 carries to be effective. .old school. He doesn't fit what they do today. Rex Ryan probably loves him.

Even with 30 carries he'd get 90 yards his ypc for a "bruiser" is bad

I'm high on Thomas. I can see them plugging him in as a big slot guy now but he's the ability to be an outside guy for sure, and Cooks could be nice in the slot or opposite him.

Well, not necessarily. .guys like him, after about 15-20, the average starts to go up. Emmitt, Peyton, Dorsett, Dickerson..those guys didn't bust out highlight reel runs every other carry, they beat on and beat on the defense until they only had arm tackles to break, then they started having the big ones..generally speaking. So his pathetic YPC would've been built only during wear them down phase, but he never got the opportunity to wear them down enough and then take advantage. But, can't blame the GMen, that style just doesn't play today.

I agree. BUT I've never seen anything he's done in the nfl to think that would happen. Lots of college backs look that part in college.

You know, our opinions are always so vastly different, it's great. It's nice to see and hear a polar opposite view. So thank you:suds:

It doesn't happen a lot. But every now and then, it may take a few seasons (and maybe even a new team) for the next Thomas Jones to go from bust to stud.

Agree it's crazy. It's beat writers trying to sell papers (or internet ad space).
I have trouble believing any "opinion" of a beat writer.
Especially since they're all over the board of prognostication.

I trust you guys more than them. :smash:
