Makes me feel pretty good for getting Coleman at #14..although I've never been a massive fan of Silva. But he had called a few things right, hopefully this will be one of them

I'm not a fan of Silva either, but I do like Coleman.

Back to Silva: Can someone interpret this for me please? "Lynch may have a higher short- and long-term fantasy ceiling, but Goff is the better bet to become a successful pro."

Alex Smith could be considered a successful pro
Tim Tebow, Colin Kaepernick-were higher ceiling fantasy QB's..not necessarily successful pros

Jeff George is still my standard bearer of great fantasy QB, not great real QB

I'm telling you guys, watch out for this dude. CJ Anderson owners beware! !

"Broncos fourth-round RB Devontae Booker wants to start as a rookie.

"I’m not here to carry pads. I’m here to take someone’s job," Booker said. C.J. Anderson’s contract makes him the likely Week 1 starter, but the Broncos expect Booker to push for snaps. Booker will miss next week’s OTAs recovering from his 2015 torn meniscus. His training camp status shouldn’t be in doubt."

Guys drafted lower with hype, im just spit balling, but just like anyone, they can talk and had some college success, and landed in good situations, so did bishop sankey......

Do you expect him to say well CJ is here to carry the rock and I hope to get some crumbs.

Honestly I expect all of them to give the same answer from "Bull Durham", "I'm just happy to be here, hope I can help the team in any way possible"..
The difference here, is that a 4th round rookie doesn't often come in with any expectations of competing with an established starter whose been the guy, for the most part, for the past 3 seasons. When you come in and basically say, "you know what? Eff that guy, I'm taking his job" tells me he's hungry. And I'm already convinced he's a superior athlete to CJ, and has a body that should hold up better than Hillman's..so add the hunger and desire to it. .scarey news for CJ owners, in my book at least

The difference being, I don't recall any of them saying, move over Lamar Miller/Jamaal Charles, Adrian Peterson, I'm taking your job. Maybe if McKinnon had that kind of desirea nd hunger, he could've faired better when Peterson went down, everyone said he was an athletic freak, so what was the problem? Many of those you listed had their opportunities taken from them due to injury as well. Point in case, Ajayi. Once he was active, he cut into Miller's time, and then poof, no more Miller in Miami.

Here were talking about a guy who has already lost his job, TWICE, to a scat back, pure and simple. Not Peterson or Charles or Miller, or even JSTEW. Not considering it as a very real possibility, is foolhardy to say the least.

Oh I definitely think he takes Hillman's touches.

This is what aggravates me about rookies.:gaah:
Kudos to them that they have the mentality to want to prove themselves. However...
  • They've never played an NFL down.
  • Have yet to realize they can't "dance" around in the backfield before starting to run like they did in college.
  • Never had to read a defense and pick up a blitz.
  • Never had to run a precise/timing route.
  • Haven't experienced the constant pummeling of NFL defender(s) trying to punch the ball out.
  • Never had to go through the rigors of a 16-game schedule.
Guys like Jamaal Charles and Adrian Peterson do not "suddenly" appear from college ranks every year.
And the NCAA certainly doesn't spit out multiple versions of them spanning 7 rounds of a single NFL draft year.

:tsk:
But every single year, someone gets this loony idea in their head that < insert rookie phenom name here > will be the next Walter, Emmitt, LaDanian, or Barry. Yet in the last 40 years of the NFL, there are literally only a handful of RB that are like that. I've lost count of the "can't miss" RB that were supposed to put their mark on NFL history.

:hungry:
Fantasy owners gobble these guys up like rats to a trap.
Rookies are poison.

:faint:

Did you say 'foolhardy'?

I'll wholeheartedly agree with all that Joe. And I'm not in any way saying Booker is the next anything. .other than the next starting RB for the Broncos, not becuase he's that great or anything, but becuase what's in his way is so mediocre

Andre Williams-total clusterfuck backfield
Jay Ajai-Behind Lamar Miller
Charles Sims-Behind Doug Martin. Still VERY rosterable as long as tBucks are playing from behind.
CAP-Stewart-The rest...............clusterfucked backfield
McKinnon-Behind AP and Asiata. When he had his chance last year in clean up mode, dude was alright.
Kniles Davis-Well, he has had a few good games but pretty much sucks.
Franklin-Was actually looking like he might be on his way to being good. Got hurt and retired.
Not making comments on the other 3 (well, Helu was behind Alf the year Alf was good) but I just don't see where any of these guys (Except for maybe Williams) landed in really good spots. Gurley, he landed in a good spot and look how well he did. Not trying to tear your post apart but anymore rook RB's are having a harder time landing in good spots (surprised not to see Gordon on that list........he landed in the perfect spot and sucked bawls).

Just pointing out all the popular "studs"

Bengals piss me off. If you hurt your ankle in February, and it's not 100% by March, wtf are you waiting until June to have surgery????? Gimme a break!
