...and here we go. He'll be playing week 1, though.

In a statement, Roger Goodell confirmed the NFL will appeal Judge Richard Berman's decision to nullify Tom Brady's four-game suspension.

Arians: Chris Johnson 'looked extremely sharp'

Chris Johnson still has a splash of gas in the tank.

The veteran running back piled up 45 yards at 4.1 yards per carry in his quest to make Arizona's roster. We expect the Cardinals to keep him around after Johnson showed burst on the ground and through the air, moving the chains on this 10-yard catch and dash in the opening frame:

Johnson showed no visible signs of the hamstring injury that kept him off the field during the preseason, leaving coach Bruce Arians to say, per The Arizona Republic: "I thought Chris looked extremely sharp."

Arians brought Johnson aboard to challenge Andre Ellington and rookie David Johnson for snaps. CJ2K isn't the same runner of old, but he looked healthy on Thursday night.

We'd love to see Ellington used more as a fleet-footed, change-of-pace option in space with Johnson and Johnson handling more of the early-down work. After a tumultuous offseason, CJ2K looks to have a full-time job lined up for 2015.

@The Foot, of course, is the only one who had CJ1K ranked.

Yeah me too..Thomas Rawls looked really good all preseason, doubt they'd sneak him through waivers and into the practice squad. Maybe they find a trade partner in the next few days

well, that'd really throw everything into chaos. A straight up, man on man, "we'll just beat you up" blocking scheme, with the best Oline in football...sounds a lot like what he ran behind in Wisconsin. Would he beat out DMC and Randle, who've already been there learning the offense though? And how long before Ball's head stops spinning from the zone blocking stuff, which was obviously above his mental capacity?

Hm... Kelly's nuts enough to actually pull his QB at the goal-line and stick Tebow in there. Which would be bad for DeMarco (and anybody who banks on Bradford).

Good for the Philly Team QB, though!

Wil and Chef, I got to say as much as I love Chris Johnson, and look he is not what he once was but I still and always will have a spot for him in my fantasy football heart for him I am really digging David Johnson whom seems to be more a wide receiver who can run between the tackles. Man I can see David becoming a superstar really quick especially if he gets the early downs and then is in on passing downs too. It gets me excited thinking about it but then what happens to my boy Chris Johnson.

Well, my thinking was either Montee or Michael for Dallas. Looks like Montee has the edge.

(6:00 pm ET) The Cowboys are not willing to trade for Broncos running back Montee Ball, but they would be interested if he was released, a source told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Ball has fallen down the depth chart in Denver.

And they'll both probably sign with the Titans. ;)

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported the Seahawks are shopping RB Christine Michael.

With Fred Jackson now in the fold and promising rookie Thomas Rawls behind him on the depth chart, Michael is likely viewed as expendable. Inconsistency has always been Michael's modus operandi, and he reportedly was struggling with the same issues in training camp this year. Michael has a ton of natural ability, however, and would be an excellent pickup for a backfield lacking top-end talent. Dallas would be an interesting option.
