I like Ellington. So I guess I'll stick up for the guy.
Scrolling through the Rotoworld news reports on Ellington...

Week 1 - hurt his foot...
Week 7 - besides the foot, now hurt his ribs vs the Raiders. Still managed 88 yards/15 points.
Week 8 - played thru the nagging foot injury. 71 yards & a TD/12 points.
Week 9 - still gimping thru the foot injury... 95 yards/18 points.
Week 10 - hurt his hip vs the Rams. 23 yards & 1 TD/9 points.
Week 11-13 - with foot and hip injuries, took its toll thru the next 3 games. Yards of 42, 24, then 12.
Week 14 - also find a sports hernia, placed on IR.

Ellington averaged 10.2 fantasy points a game. 15 RB did as good or better. And I bet 14 of them didn't have the injuries this kid was dealing with.

The kid is scrappy. And I mean that as a compliment. I give the kid a lot of credit. I hope he does well to quiet his critics.

The Jaguars are referring to Julius Thomas' injury as a "stable fracture" on the back of his hand.

I'm sure he'll be able to catch really well with that. Especially when defenders target their helmet and/or should pads on the bad hand.

Yup. And their back up was dropping balls badly. No wonder. I thought he was a linebacker when I saw his arms! His name is eluding me right now... (Clay Harbour?)

Okay, let's give you all of that. .every bit of it. He's still am injury risk, he's still got competition that was drafted explicitly to give him competition. They want to sign Chris f'n Johnson because they aren't satisfied with either of them. .they play the Seahawks twice. .and if your best argument is Palmer can make him good, well Palmer is a poor bet to play more than half a season too...still far too many questions to say "oh yeah I can depend on this guy, no worries"
Well he's not an RB1, he' a RB3 thats where he is going so far in drafts. An RB3 who can give me what he gets when healthy is a gift. Johnson can't run between the tackles either so thats a dumb signing.

There seem to be a lot of pre-season smokescreens and confusion.

Btw Ellington's first year was streaky. He only did well against teams that couldn't stop the run unless it was a truly awful team where they thought Mendenhall was good enough for. I mean why Ellington was not used against Jville was beyond me.

And Ellington plays his second Seattle game week 17 when the playoffs are already finished.

Was looking at the injury report this morning... CBS is reporting that Sammy Watkins is questionable for the start of the season? Am I reading this correctly?

How much does Bruce Arians like him? It doesn't really matter how much we all like him.
