lol, I think that was his wife.
No Shit?
Money can buy you pretty much anything huh!

I've been here since right after the game. I've got little problem with this move really. Defense is young so they'll be fine. The entire staff pretty much collapsed in the clutch. Giving up 9 points in 50 minutes and 25 in the last 13 of the Super Bowl will get you canned especially when the defense wasn't very good to begin with. It'd be different if this was the only time it happened but we went into the same prevent defense too early against San Diego and New Orleans in the regular season. If you don't learn from your mistakes you won't get kept around. Team has too much talent to lose games because of coaching errors. 3 times in 19 games is more than enough proof they didn't learnhas anyone seen a Falcons fan since the loss?
Thought I saw @rmilia1 yesterday but that's about it...
can't say I am surprised coaches are being fired but in reality they just got outplayed when it mattered most...
Sucks that those guys had to take a fall for this. The offense IMO was the real reason they choked.
Wasn't dan quinn running the show on defense anyways?
lol, I think that was his wife.
That defense was brutal the last 18 minutes or so.
They couldn't stop anything.
Do you blame them? The Pats ran nearly 100 plays. Running the ball 9 times in the 2nd half when at point you were up 25 just doesn't make sense.

I even said to my girlfriend: "Atlanta shouldn't even think about passing the ball for the rest of the game."

Crazy shit is the Pats were not stopping Freeman & Coleman. Those 2 were avg 5.4 on 18 carries.
Freeman had a bunch on carry 31. Not so much after that.
5 runs after going up 28-3. Please explain that
Honestly the team went 11-5 with a below average D blowing leads vs San Diego, Seattle, Philly in the 4th quarter. If the defense improves to even middle of the pack it should easily be av12+ win team next year. There's really no reason to keep giving guys a chance to screw up when they've already proven they will. You only get a certain window of time to be elite generally so not capitalizing on that is stupid. That's why I feel bad for Rodgers, that guy is going to retire with 1 or 2 Super Bowl rings, when just a decent defense probably gets him at least 1 more these last few yearsI wish this was the case in GB. Dom Capers has masterminded an underwhelming defense for six straight years now. It's probably going to take Rodgers getting hurt in the preseason and a 1-15 season to finally cut bait with the guy.
Hank doesn't blame the play calling. He thinks the first 50 minutes if the game were a fluke and the last 13 were the real deal ( as do the majority of Pats fans ). So you're not going to convince any of them that Atlanta would have won if they stick to the runEither way you don't wave the towel on the run up 25 points late in the 3rd of the superbowl. On that drive when Ryan fumbled, they had 2 runs for 9 yards on the first 2 downs. Why pass on 3rd and 1? Where is the logic?
And I don't even know if those include the 2 point conversions and the plays that were "no play" due to penalty. To add on to this point. New England ran 93 plays. Atlanta ran 46 plays. New England TOP was 40:31 while Atlanta TOP was 23:27. Your defense is eventually going to get exposed against Tom Brady when you're on the field for 93 plays & 17 more minutes than the Patriots defense.
Falcons fired defensive coordinator Richard Smith and defensive line coach Bryan Cox.
Even after Atlanta's Super Bowl meltdown, the moves are very surprising. Smith's young defense improved steadily over the course of 2016, while Cox's defensive line harassed Tom Brady relentlessly on Sunday before running out of gas on a whopping 93 defensive snaps, not including six penalties. Dan Quinn presumably had misgivings about both before the Super Bowl, because Smith and Cox's units played about as well as could have been hoped. With Kyle Shanahan gone to San Francisco, the Falcons will have two new coordinators in 2017.
