That's because James has made Cole into a great player. Kobe had many years to do the same with Luke Walton, but Luke stayed a scrub because of KoME's selfishness.

Didn't say they were all that bright for doing it!!

The main reason he lasted as long as he did was because Phil liked him. Luke wasn't the most talented player, but he is very smart and learned the triangle inside and out.

Often times, if Phil felt like the Lakers weren't running the triangle properly, he would put Luke in to get the offense back on track!!
