Derek Roy out until November. Did Dallas know that before making the swap?

they felt he was too young for their roster after getting Whitney and Jagr so they took this approach to age him a little more before lacing up

I was wondering right after the trade why Buffalo would give up on Roy with getting so little back in return. Ott is a great #3 Center who can agitate with the best of them, but why trade your #1 Center for that? I wonder if his body is starting to break down a little bit. If Buffalo just made it known that Roy was available (and he was in good condition), it would surely seem that they could have gotten better than a 3rd line center and a 6/7th defenseman.

L.A. Lariviere ‏@L_A_theRiver
Bernier tells @TVASports he expects to be traded close to training camp, "preferably close to home". More details to come.

Or Pheonix! They'll be in QC soon enough.

i was going to mention that but I dont think they are dumping Mike Smith anytime soon.

:D

I think that most of us agree that Bernier has the ability to start, but does anyone think that he may go into an open competition situation? Columbus, Long Island or maybe Ottawa?

The Islanders have zero interest in acquiring another goalie. Nabby is signed for 1 year, Poulin, Nilsson & Koskinen will battle it out for the backup spot. If Dipietro plays at all the organization is making a mistake.

I can only imagine what that health insurance monthly bill looks like.

Hmm... better post-35 career; Selanne or Jagr?

Selanne? he has the cup. and consistently produced every year at the NHL level

The Anaheim Ducks have re-signed free agent forward Teemu Selanne to a one-year, $4.5 million contract.

$4.5M wow anyone over 40 in the NHL that was thinking of retirement just said. WAITAMINUTE..... Im going to make $4.5M :D

After this season Kevin Poulin or Anders Nilsson will be the starter. Garth believes in the young goalies the Isles have in the system.

i was just being sarcastic with Crazy Wang and Snow. I agree that the youth movement in goal is now.

Nobody in his age group is in Selanne's class. Teemu is like a fine wine. He gets better with age.
