at this point i dont care who goes where...I just want the Nash/Semin/Doan stuff finished. They are just dragging thsi crap out and it is annoying me. This offseason has kinda sucked for everyone except Minny and I guess Tampa and Vancouver.

and Luongo. holy crap I want that done.

one thing however.

Vancouver is a neutral off season so far. we didn't get better. we didn't get worse. (yet.....) Salo was a MAJOR player on our D he held things together we won't know until he is not here long term. getting away for 10 games without him is doable. 82 games? that changes Edler, Bieksa into bigger minutes. that scares the fuck out of me. Garrison is an unknown a good unknown but still unknown.

Tampa and Minnesota kicked ass. Calgary didn't do too bad either. I think trades are coming Nash, Ryan and Luongo and that may really change some things up.

if everyone finds a home right away, then all we will have left is worrying about the CBA shit

yeah i forgot about Calgary they did well for themselves too.

I know the trades are coming but im tired of waiting. It is just so unusual for the Wings not to get their player I am a little flustered. Its fine that they didnt get him but at the same time I wish they could show me what they are doing right now although I know why they dont.

one thing at a time...I would rather CBA dominate the talk because that would mean no one has anything else to focus on until that gets done.

interesting to note that Shane Doans son was at the Brick tournament in Edmonton playing for a team from LA (played minor hockey in Phoenix but LA team picked him up for the tournament)

Canucks assistant GM Laurence Gilman has confirmed his club’s interest in signing unrestricted free agent Shane Doan.

“I have spoken to Shane Doan on behalf of our organization a couple of times,” Gilman told the Vancouver Sun Monday. “I spoke with him on July 1 to express our interest in bringing him to Vancouver and subsequently followed up with Shane last night. I know from my experience in Phoenix that he has been interested in Vancouver in the past. He’s a western Canadian guy whose wife is from Kamloops. So I think there is interest there. I had productive discussions with both Shane and his agent.”

Whether the Canucks are willing to give Doan, 35, a three- or four-year contract will be interesting to see. They didn’t want to sign defenseman Sami Salo, 37, for more than one year and watched him walk away to Tampa Bay.

“For players over 35, it’s very dangerous territory,” GM Mike Gillis said. “If anything happens it counts against your cap. We were comfortable going one year at a time with Sami.”

Just checking in from the road - Brenden Morrow could be available.

Dallas captain Brenden Morrow is believed to be available and the Blues may have interest. They might not be the only team asking about Morrow, as the New York Rangers, San Jose Sharks and Los Angeles Kings may also be in contact with the Stars.

Blues moving forward in trade talks

I think you are underestimating Jason Garrison's defensive game. Honestly, I'm more excited about that than his 16 goals from last year.
he is a significant step up from Salo, especially the Salo of the 2nd half of the season.
I do agree that over the past years Salo has been the glue that held the blueline together, but that aspect really seemed to fade away last year. I think he hit a wall.

I would love Brendan Morrow on the Wings although we are crowded at forward. Although if we could bring him in and then trade for Nash that would be nasty.

losing Salo and Rome is more of a lateral move no? we just got younger. I guess that is the plus. Yes Im excited about Garrison but it doesnt blow me away for a successful off season. its a start.

You don't really think anyone's dumb enough to trade Nash into their own division, do you?

(I keep wanting to say Howson, but it doesn't seem right...)
