I want the Sharks to rebuild by trading Thornton to Columbus for Ryan Johansen and their 2013 1st Rounder

Not the way Johansen has come into Dev Camp. You can have Brassard instead.

RyJo is a monster, apparently.

Nitwits like that always get the fan love though. Remember how everyone LOVED Carcillo in Philly and Tikkanen everywhere he went?

eloco will be happy:

Then it's a good signing (if he's even half the player Joe Mullen was, that's still pretty darn good).

he was a Dman in the Kings system. College before that. Maybe Tanev replacement when we get Weber for Edler, Tanev and a #1 pick :D

Shit! I just realized that I used to play against him when he played for Upper St. Claire! We'll, I know that it was one of the Mullen kids.

Short story: I played goalie for Canevin high school when I was younger. One game that we played was against USC in Bethel Park against one of the Mullen kids. Joey was in the stands next to my dad. They began talking and after the game, Joey waited about half an hour so that I could meet him. My team had won the game, so I spent a little extra time hanging out with my buddies before leaving the locker room. Joey couldn't wait any longer, so I missed my chance at meeting him.

I've been bummed out about this for close to 15 years...

flames will push that number to 47 pro contracts ... Backlund rumoured to be signing a 1 year deal today

You are correct, sir (Backlund signs a 1 year deal valued at $725,000) - Make or break year for the kid this season, here's hoping he steps it up. More from Feaster:

“Mikael has an opportunity to step-up and attempt to secure a top two-line center position with our club,” said Flames General Manager Jay Feaster. “He is a very talented player who skates well, has excellent vision and possesses a strong skill set. As we have discussed with him, Mikael needs to work on his consistency and his focus in order to break through in a top six role and start to define his role on our team. We are excited about the level of competition that should exist in camp this fall and we expect Mikael to be in the thick of those battles.”

Edit: More of this would be great, Mikael.

Good for him. I really hope he pulls it off. It's also very classy of the Flames to stick with him.

FUCK YEAH!!

I was worried my jersey would become irrelevant. Not only am I psyched my personal favorite player is back, but Perreault trailed only Ovechkin in points if you adjusted the team for games played and ATOI. Very underappreciated and underutilized guy on this squad.

VERY happy he is back with us. That little ball of energy...
