Since the media is always so spot on in calling the Cup Finals this early, would it be better to put my money on Minny or Edmonton-y out of the West? I mean, someone has to play the Isles, right?

read a stats based take on backlund this morning saying he was a perfect offer sheet candidate for the Leafs ... story asked the question ... "do the flames know what they have in this guy?"

I really think Backlund's confidence has taken a huge hit, he needs to play with talented guys, not plumbers like Jackman and Kostopolous. Play him with Iggy and Cammy, or Baertschi for a few games and see what happens.

The thing is, I've never really been a Patty Marleau fan...I'd love Couture, but I realize he's pretty much untouchable. What would it take to pry Joe Pavelski from San Jose?

Probably a lot now that his fuckface teammate from Wisconsin is now on the team. I think DWil views him as part of the solution, not the problem.

If I were GM though? I'd want Backlund and Baertschi.....then I'd wait for you to laugh and hang up the phone. I'd even take Stajan back to make up for it.....



I want the Sharks to rebuild by trading Thornton to Columbus for Ryan Johansen and their 2013 1st Rounder, Marleau to the Canadiens for Tomas Kaberle (salary dump), Danny Kristo and their 2013 1st Rounder, and Boyle to the Red Wings for Valtteri Filpulla and Jakub Kindl.

If Baertschi is traded, the torches and pitchforks come out in Calgary. In all honesty, unless Feaster can somehow get a nice return for JayBo from Detroit, Philly, or St. Louis, I think he's done with wheeling and dealing. I still think Kipper could be moved at the trade deadline next season if the Flames are struggling and out of playoff contention.

i wouldn't trade every bad contract the flyers have for jaybo.. i loathe his reputation as a good dman.. i spent countless hours arguing against getting him back when he signed w/ calgary.. i fought every flyers fan on disney about it i think

and jody shelley does indeed suck. though, while i was a sharks game this season i saw a jody shelley sharks jersey.. i wish i would've taken a picture.. that's probably rarer than big foot
