Good pitching and a lot of home games. Favorable schedule. Not good baseball tonight so far

And this right here is the problem. We have absolutely no middle or heart of the order. None. Beltre and Fielder are supposed to be our best two hitters and represent a real threat to the other team. They are awful though, downright awful. Forget hitting for power. They can't even hit, period. They are automatic outs.

That is why other teams are scoring 6-8 runs a night and we struggle to get to 2. The bottom of our lineup and Choo in the 2 hole are performing to or maybe even better than expected. We just have the absolute worst #3 and #4 hitters in all of baseball right now by a very wide margin.

Gallardo threw 29 pitches to retire one batter in the fifth.
92 pitches for Gallardo, with just 55 finding the strike zone.

This is just not gonna get it done

they are facing pitchers that are not likely in teams rotations, if the season was fairly early on. Pitchers that may not even be on the big league clubs for the most part
