Extra points to be abolished?

There is one reason why there is not a chance in hell this happens. Look at this in the eyes of the NFL. How many times have you seen this?:

Team scores a TD. It warrants review.

Commercial break.... $$$$$$$$ for NFL

They come back, play stands, kick the extra point.

Commercial break.... more $$$$$$$$ for NFL

Kickoff.

Eliminate the extra point and you lose a commercial break, and...$$$$$$$

It'll never happen.

I love watching high school football, and at that level extra points are far from automatic, and that does make the game much more exciting (every extra point, everybody is on the edge of their seats seeing if the kicking team can pull it off, and if they do the fans of the kicking team go nuts). any FG within 40 yds is pretty much automatic for NFL kickers, so I would like to see PATs be a 40-50 yd kick like someone else suggested above. Belichick did a good job of explaining why PATs are so boring back on Jan 2...

It'll never happen.

All TD's are reviewed. If there's no question that it's legit ( which is much more often than not) they never go to commercial before the XP is kicked.

I like it. Get rid of the stinking extra point. It is a waste of time.

I would like to see it be a gradual progression system.

Up until 10 points you kick the extra point from the 2 yard line.

11-20 the extra point is from the 12 yard line.

21-30 the extra point is from the 22 yard line.

31-40 ..............32 yard line

41-50 ..............42 yard line

Make it fucking interesting.

How about this crazy idea... Take away the 2 point conversion....

The extra point is only for the kicker...

1 Point for a 30 Yarder
2 points for a 45 yarder
and 3 point for a 60 yarder...

This rule idea is about as dumb as the rule where they changed the kickoff spot which now ends in 98% touchbacks. Poor Devin Hester will never break the record now.

I don't think making a big change is a good thing in my opinion. Solve the problem(extra points are too easy) with minimal change. Make extra points more difficult. Simple. Just need to pick which way to make the XPK more difficult. Smaller goal posts or further away?

Maybe they should put the goal post on a rail so it moves left and right in a random pattern with pivoting hurricane fans and a swinging bulls eye that's worth 3 points if they hit it?

Oh yes... I used to always use that 5 minutes between score and Opponent starting their next drive (commercial break, XP, commercial break, touchback, commercial break) for going to the bathroom, throwing something in the oven, getting more beer, etc... Now I actually do stay for later XP's.
