Is it me, or does it seem like the strong majority of people are taking the Patriots to win and easily at that? Every site I seem to frequent are all the same. Was it like this last year too against Denver? I honestly don't remember.

Its a couple of things. One, people lean heavily on what they most recently have seen, Seahawks coming back against GB vs NE blowing out Indy. Second, many believe that this deflategate crap is going to galvanize the Pats in to an unbeatable force :rollseyes:.

Considering the 'chip' that a healthy % of our team plays with, the national media picking NE, and overlooking us, is the best possible outcome.

Were South Alaska.... Media is always against us.... As long as the refs call a fair game I"m good with it ... I like our chances, were the more physical team.... If the pats had the#1 defense and #1 rushing attack they'd be media darlings... Were just that team out near Alaska.. That will never change...

As I remember it, yes, it was exactly like this. If the Super Bowl was played in the opinion of the media, then Seattle would have lost big last year.

I haven't watched on TV/radio much so far, but online it actually seems like the Seahawks are getting slightly more respect than they got last year. Last year it was basically Broncos win because Broncos, Payton Manning, Seahawks haven't faced an offense like this, Payton Manning, record setting offense, Broncos are teh awesome, etc. This year although there's still a lot of Patriots will win because Patriots, there seems to be less of that. Like I said, the talking heads very well may be slobbering all over the Pats that I don't know.

I don't know about that. I've heard a few people talking about our historical defense as well. This defense has pretty much shut down everybody at full strength and we're close to that right now. DT is a concern, but we have Wagner at full strength and the secondary is lights out. And the great thing about the GB game is that they made a TON of mistakes so they'll have plenty to look at leading up to the game. I know that sounds a little weird, but guys like Wilson, Kearse, and Baldwin don't allow themselves to play the way they did two weeks in a row. I think the offense comes out sharp and the Pats have to grind out and earn any points they get. They certainly won't beat us with big plays because we just don't give them up.

Didn't they do the same thing last year, Manning is wonderful, manning Manning Manning, the Seahawks don't have a chance. This year it is the Brady Drool feast. The Media has gotten stupid with their QB love fest. The best team is going to win this, not the best QB, just like last year.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned with Thomas and Sherman though.

I'm not worried a bit about those 2. They both finished the game and played great after their injuries, and they're both practicing over a week before the game. They'd be in slings right now if it was something to worry about.

all i have seen and heard is people picking Seattle to win. it's been like 3 to 1 for me ( 3 for Seattle 1 for the pats) so i am thinking you just tend to blow that 1 out of proportion

Line is Seahawks -1.5 at most sites today. Still basically a pickum for this Superbowl from the sportsbooks perspective.

I'm thinking it might be later than that before all the talk shifts to the actual game. The next couple of days will consist of initial press conferences (the Hawks already had theirs) and media day. Then, depending on what's said (or not said) during those media spectacles, it could be Thursday before most of the talk moves on to the game itself.

I draw confidence from the 7-1 all time record of the #1 scoring D in the SB; also the last 2 the Patriots lost were to the defensively strong Giants. Pats are definitely a worthy opponent and it will be a tough game though.
