Yes, that's the plan. And it's a good one. Embiid's a great dude, hard worker, and has been good for the city. We need to milk some more healthy playoff time out of him.

The NBA should cut the season back to however many games the players can play hard for. Is that 50? They probably can't manage that, but it's much better.
as a fan I love the idea of cutting the reg. season some (though 50 seems a bit much). But those who make money off those games likely will see it differently.

The 72 game Covid season was perfect but of course they won’t do that

Looks like the NBA has fined the Sixers 100k, concluding that they basically lied and that Embiid has a knee "
condition" they have not fully disclosed. The Sixers are claiming he did not re-injure the surgically repaired knee, but it sounds like maybe he did and it is a game of semantics.

“I’ve done way too much for this fucking city to be treated like this.”

Joel Embiid doesn’t like the Philly Media questioning his desire to play

Love Embiid's effort, but I don't need him diving for any more loose balls. Especially not in the long dumb meaningless regular season.

What a waste of his unique talents to have him on the floor in October.
was,nt sir hurt all the time on this year,s olympic team?

At this point, it has become clear that:

1) The Process was one of the great all-time failures in NBA history
2) The Sixers made a critical mistake in not trading Ben Simmons after figuring out he was a tin man, and then made the same mistake with Embiid
3) Embiid probably only has another two years left before he retires, citing injury

Daryl Morey executed his off-season plan to perfection. Too bad it was the wrong plan. The Sixers look like they may be in the Cooper Flagg sweepstakes at this point.

Jokic>Embild
Neither guy seems to care about basketball all that much, but Jokic at least put in the work to get a ring before he goes off to breed horses or whatever he goes on to do.

Sixers look like the NBA's version of the Dallas Cowboys sadly. An overhyped team with some big name stars that signed big contracts and are never going to be worth the money.

This is going to be a very long season. The only positive so far is the play of rookie Jared McCain, which is good, because they are basically going to be rebuilding after this season so they might as well get a jump start!

They should rest everyone. Get Flagg and then go for it next year.

At least you are a realistic fan. It does suck how it all played out but I think their last true chance is hoping guys get healthy this year. Mccain and Maxey are big bright spots for the future, if all else fails.

I don't blame you. Not sure what Philly is doing. You said in the other thread it is good they rest bc the first 50 games are meaningless. Yes maybe for a team at the top of their conference, not for teams at the bottom of their conference. They will now fight to get a playoff spot. It is good you are being more realistic with the lottery but I see middle ground for them which is what Indiana did for years. The worst spot possible.

They should have traded Embiid last summer like I suggested but they were hoping he would eventually lead them to a ship adding PG13. People thought I was crazy, yes a bit unrealistic, but you could see his body deteriorating. Getting full value for him is the smart move and it's not like fans really admire the guy anyway. They would get over it in time....that time is passed and his value is long gone. He will retire a Sixer, sooner rather than later.
