lol

They made it because Lebron came back. They actually quit trying to win, the Heat didn't.

As for this time around...You don't honestly think they're getting back to the finals in the next 2-3 years do you?

Because I doubt Lebron's gonna come back and save them again.
does Lebron come back if they couldn't win?

well, to equal the Heat they'd need to get to the Finals 4 years from now. But, no, I don't expect it to happen without some serious lottery luck. and the best chance was in the last 2 lotteries and I think our luck might have run out.

really? didn't need to dump salary to have room for 2 max guys? Thought they signed for near max, but maybe they just came for some South beach entertainment.

How were they not trying to win the season before acquiring Bosh and James? Did they not win 48 games and end up 5th in the East with Wade and some role players?

Didn't say they were not trying to win (in fact, said they were trying to win)....but they did need to set it up to strip (or gut) the roster after that season.

from post 979 - "Though will say they still tried to win as in a FA destination city you just need cap room...not high picks."

Thought the Cavs already did that as they got back to a Finals in year 5 post Lebron, and won it in Year 6.

Just sayin'.

So the blueprint is to win the lottery 3 times and get a player who is in the GOAT conversation to sign via free agency?

Sounds easy.

No one said it was easy....but they did it. and if they did not look like they built a contender to join that GOAT does not come back.

did they get lucky? Sure. and in last 2 lotteries (or 3, but I don't think the latest hurts as much) their luck ran out.

Doesn't matter. They haven't won anything without him and they quit trying to win when he left (both times), the Heat never quit trying to win.
The Heat can clear cap room and sign a Jimmy Butler. The Cavs cannot. So there's that.

I'm not saying what I am to rip on the Heat. They do NOT need to tank. They just need to clear cap room when appropriate and they did. Though to get to this level it's a fact it took 6 years. But, hell, it took LA 7.

Lucky for me, I guess, I saw a title I never thought I'd see.

Not sure if this is a hawt take, but I think Boston had the more athletic, more talented team.
Miami had the better scheme.
Which correlates to coaching?

I've seen some responses on 'hot shooting' form MIA.

Here are the stats for 3P for the series :
MIA was 72-223 (32.3%)
BOS was 75-220 (34.1%)

Anyone have the late game stats for each game during the series?
