Yes. All sorts of things can happen to a scoring chance. They don't all become goals or even shots on net!!

But I defy you to find any person who has watched more than a dozen NHL games (or even major junior, NCAA, etc.) who will tell you that a player skating into the opponents slot, all alone, is not a scoring chance.

I honestly can't believe we're arguing about this but, OK. You win. Pointing out that being open in the slot in full control of the puck is being a know it all. I would call it being a "know just a little bit" myself but no worries. I'll take my obscure ideas about hockey elsewhere.

Maybe I should have specified, when a PROFESSIONAL hockey player skates into the slot...

But those were still scoring chances. Very low percentage scoring chances perhaps, but still chances.
