I havent seen any hockey (or sports for that matter) since ive been on the big island but i take it this is a good summary of yesterdays game
Wingels won't have a hearing. I'm really lost on that one. It was end of a blowout game, so the whole "send a message" thing was in play. It's the first chicken wing elbow I've seen in a while. It was a fourth line player. This was an easy one for the DoPS to handle. That wing was Cooke-ian. Man.
Yeah, but Wilson's not dead, so it couldn't have been that bad.
Ottawa is a football town unlike Pittsburgh.
No. The fact of the matter with Ottawa is that it's a market like every other Canadian one outside of MTL and TOR. With one exception. By far it's biggest employer is:
1) Prohibited from buying corporate tickets (government and rightfully so)
2) Hasn't paid about half of it's workers in a year.
Still putting the "Sens" in Sensitive up there I see.No. The fact of the matter with Ottawa is that it's a market like every other Canadian one outside of MTL and TOR. With one exception. By far it's biggest employer is:

As I pointed out to the person who seems obsessed with Ottawa's ticket sales: how many tickets did you buy this playoff season?
Oh you have reasons why you didn't, but come on, you can save up for tickets. You have 4-5 years between appearances after all.

Except something two other commenters responded to before your hissy fit?Still contributing nothing to the thread I see.

It was pretty big news in the 2nd round and it was big enough news that Melnyk commented on it this morning. Sorry if news bothers you?Hissy fit?
I pointed out reasons why:
1) The game might not be sold out
2) You are kind of a hypocrite.
Not exactly a fit.
But OK, here goes. It's just terrible that a game might not sellout. Atrocious. They should probably just cancel the whole thing.
Or maybe, who gives a flying fuck about a couple hundred tickets.
Either way I'm going to watch my team play a do-or-die game in late May. Have fun counting the tickets still available for that game. Seems like a an awesome way to spend your time.
Also gotta give a stick tap to responding to all this with digging at my favourite team as if I own them or something. YOUR TEAM OF CHOICE SUCKS SO HOW DARE YOU COMMENT ON MINE! is always a fun way of picking out people who take things wayyyyy too seriously.

If we didn't discuss off-ice stuff well we'd be pretty boring hockey fans.I didn't say how dare you comment on my team. You implied that because people aren't buying enough tickets it is somehow a really important thing and reflects poorly on a team. Seems that on the your team sucks scale that's pretty minimal. Yet you bring it up when there is a chance they might not sellout. I find it tedious to say the least.
We could argue ticket sales I guess, or maybe sales of Coke vs. Pepsi. Seems, from this fan's perspective, pretty petty and VERY boring. Personally I prefer to focus on the seemingly unimportant things like games that are played on the ice. But I guess I'm a weird fan that way.
Going forward if you want to make comments about how bad it is that people aren't buying enough tickets I won't argue with you one bit. I'll just point out one last time that you didn't buy any tickets when your team made the playoffs for just the second time in 13 years. Now that that's out of the way you can post whatever you want about non-sellouts, concession sales and rumoured poor tipping of the VIP parking valets. Enjoy!!
I think we're fortunate you're not a Panthers or Coyotes fan.And I'm taking things too seriously? You seem to be constantly concerned with the gate receipts of a team that isn't one you own.

If my team's playoff tickets, let alone conference final tickets, were going for $100 I'd buy a wheel-barrow full of them.
I never implied anything was a "really important thing". I just posted something because it pegs to a topic that was pretty big news in the NHL just a few weeks ago. Not sure how I was being hypocritical in any way shape or form, or implying anything about the Senators.
