It's not the exception! People who hang out with gang members, the vast majority of the time, are bad people. Jackson might not actually commit murder, but he's FAR more likely to get in some other sort of trouble if his known associates are these kinds of dumbasses.

It's not the only reason he got cut, but the Eagles are smart enough not to ignore that factor.

I don't think the gang affiliation had anything to do with why he got cut personally.
He had those same affiliations when the eagles gave him his big contract.

Maybe they just didn't want this to turn into an Aaron Hernandez type situation and decided to cut ties. I think it's more about the fact he's always demanding a new contract and they got tired of his antics on and off the field. Just keep him away from my team. Let the Raiders have him. ;)

Most of the league knows at least one or two gang members. One guy anywhere resembling recent has killed somebody, and I'm not sure you can even count a Connecticut "gang" as a gang.

The majority don't cause any issues whatsoever. "Gang ties" means nothing.

When the majority of the league has some sort of "gang ties" by the standards they are judging Jackson, and there is one problem occurrence in recent history, dismissing someone for gang ties is not only stupidity; it is a guarantee you have zero chance at being competitive if you actually legitimately enforce it.

But no one is, and no one will. This bullshit will have little to no role on him finding a new home.

Just because you have friends in a gang or family members in a gang, doesn't mean that you're a gangbanger. Everybody in the hood has friends like that, not everybody is out there killing folk.

Hernandez is retarded and should not be held as the standard for people who grew up in impoverished areas.

I guessing Jackson lands with the chiefs. Next couple of guesses Jets or Raiders, long shots Pats, 49ers, Seahawks.

Chiefs have to clear cap in order to make that happen. I would think Washington closes the deal if not the Jets. Oakland and San Fran are just oo close to home and the Seahawks...umm, no.

Darkhorse is Tampa who sounded political about the potential but still have the cap room to make something happen and are destined to make an immediate impact on the division with Lovie now running the show.

Chiefs would have to do a contract like Jared Allen contract, small salary this year, big salary next year. All guaranteed or something like that. I think Reid really wants to make it happen. Washington doesn't have the cap space, do they?

Per ESPN:

"The Redskins have $7.2 million in salary-cap space. Kansas City, which also reportedly is interested, has $4.8 million. Oakland -- Jackson played at nearby Cal and grew up in Southern California -- has $15.1 million of cap space."

It will be interesting to see who lands him. Chiefs have the least needs, one is a guy like Jackson, lots of ways to work it. Cut someone or work a contract that doesn't cost much this year but makes up for it later.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Chiefs have dropped out of the running for free agent DeSean Jackson.

This should send up an immediate red flag to other interested teams, based on coach Andy Reid's history with Jackson. Kansas City also has a wide receiver need. Per RapSheet, the Chiefs "did research" on D-Jax, and opted against signing him. Jackson is scheduled to visit the Redskins on Monday. Many national reporters expect Dan Snyder to out-bid the field for 27-year-old Jackson.

Buffalo is starting to pop up in the "interested" category but aren't likely to get into an bidding wars for Jackson. They may play this like T.O. some years back; sign him if and when no one else wants him.

He will end up in Oakland. He is looking for the payday and they have the deep pockets. It was evident in Philly that he wanted more money and not willing to wait for his contract to play out.

Everyone is right, the gang stuff won't be what keeps teams from giving him serious consideration, it's his attitude. Someone will sign the headache and get what they're asking for. Yeah he can make a highlight reel once and a while and have some big catches, but it takes football players and teams to win championships. Guys like Jackson don't have what it takes to see it thru to a championship. he's easy when the going is easy peasy, when it's gut check time, guys like him check out. They make excuses, they whine, they bitch, the point fingers and ask for money.
