Seems to always come down to counting on our defense, weather its the season opener, some where in the middle or even the end push to gain a playoff spot. C'mon defense, keep us in this.

What about Gruden's offense? W/o AP last year, where would the run game have been? Where has the run game been since Gruden got here? Now he has another "new" QB in his system, very little experience at WR, a shaky OL at best and most teams will focus on JReed until I presume he gets hurt, then very little to no offense at all.

It will be extremely tough for Gruden to generate a lot of offense with this current group. I could see this unit's young WR's & QB growing together say, next year and after. But, this is what he and Allen have to work with, what they put together and have apparently staked their jobs on this year. Gruden may be able to negotiate an extension of sorts to buy time with Haskins but this start (5) games is crucial. If 0-5 (which is possible) he may be gone early and this season becomes a dumpster fire unless O'Connell and Haskins can save the season by going 8-3. If that were to happen, the fan base would go crazy. Not likely!

Alas, none of that will happen because our defense will keep us in games for a while early on until legs start getting a little tired and injuries start to mount because of those tired legs. There will be talk of next season after 10-11 games in and new leadership discussion and how to find these new leaders. Seems that way almost every year in Ashburn so why should this season be any different. I have to admit this may be one of the most dysfunctional organizations in all of professional sports. No wonder Trent wants out. He should have retired here in one uniform just like Darrell Green. He deserved that, the fans deserved that but no so sure the organization deserves that.
