Good game by the offense. Haskins took another step today. Not so much for the D.
The defense does seem to fall apart whenever Norman plays. Nicholson also needs to be replaced. He clearly has talent, but that personal foul was a killer - not just because of what it did directly, but those kind of plays give a team a reputation. I don't think Anderson gets that bleeping stupid roughing call if Nicholson hadn't done that. You don't get the benefit of any doubt when someone on the team does that kind of garbage. Also, Nicholson takes too many bad angles - and his tackles tend to be too far from the LOS. Those 2 plays - the Nicholson penalty and the Anderson penalty - cost the Skins the game as much as any other plays. And the secondary's f ups in the red zone were inexcusable - if it wasn't already clear Manusky has to go... well it was already clear, but it's even more clear now. When the D doesn't even compete in the red zone... how do you not even cover Ertz? That's the definition of not competing.Yeah, the offense looked like something other than hot dog-shit for a nice change. That defense though, boy....11/16 3rd dn conv allowed, 156 yd rushing given up. I can't wait till Norman is gone.
And if Guice can stay healthy, I'd be fine with that being our offense for the next 5 years - with 2 exceptions - a TE and a LT. Looking at the Eagles TE's and the Skins TE's - there's a world of difference.
