The choices made by this team has turnEd strengths into weaknesses and forced us to draft for depth . Mathis is a prime time example of this . Keeping Settle or ionman or both would have allowed a true need to be addressed, like LB or DB

signing wince didn’t mean you had to let go of ionman , nor settle and settle is in the same role with the bills as he was here

It is a cardinal sin to weaken the trenches. I have no idea why Rivera did that. There again, I have no idea why Rivera did or does half the things he does.

It is good to see Commanders beat writers come around to the idea that Rivera needs to go and has caused dysfunction. He also used up a considerable amount of cap to build a below-average team. Bruce left him with 60+ million. He squandered that.

The offensive line was so bad yesterday (and in Detroit), I don't see how you can realistically evaluate the rest of the team. 19 QB hits including 9 sacks, 5 in the first quarter. This is a level of O-line play that is debilitating to the entire squad.

The roster is one of the least talented rosters in the NFL. If Wentz was not starting for WSH, I doubt he starts anywhere else.

If I was a Commanders fan, I would want to move on from RR, JDR, and Wentz ASAP. That ASAP is probably after this year. Again, this is based off of data, history, and common sense. JDR had the 25th ranked defense in 2021 and 28th ranked defense YTD in 2022. Is the defense getting better?
Wentz is 0-1 in his career in the playoffs. He is on his 3rd team in 3 years. Nearly every Colts and Eagles beat writer destroys the guy. Has he helped his previous teams succeed or not? DId he guide them to the playoffs?

That is the difference between you and me: just cause a player plays for the team or a coach coaches for us, I don't believe they magically become good. You have literally been accused of being a social media worker for the Commanders.

Yes, you said I would return. However, the reason for my post is incorrect. I said if Dean continues to make remarks directed at me, I would come back. That is what occurred.

You are correct, I left last year but it was for different reasons. I left last year because I was tired of arguing that 2 + 1 = 3. I WAS BEING TOLD CONSISTENTLY THAT 2 + 1 = 5. After a while, you give up and move on as it isn't worth your time. While it is a forum as you said, some things are common sense to me. I said 2021 was going to be a bad year for the team and got tired of being criticized for it. Turns out, I was right. To me, I am in your words "mystified" how the fan base/posters didn't see the disaster that was unfolding. I believe fans sometimes simply do not want to see what is in front of them. I believe that is what happened. After saying something a million times, you move on. We can agree to disagree here.

Fast-forward to this year, I was disgusted with a few things: Snyder and Rivera. No need to re-hatch Snyder as I hope we are all aligned? With respect to Rivera, again, I appear to be in the minority with Rivera's vision. Dean and others jumped up and down with the Wentz trade, draft, and free agency approach. I repeatedly said the coaching staff needed to be shaken up, Wentz was a mistake, and the free agency game plan made no sense. To your point, we all have opinions; however, after a while, I said "screw it" and moved on.

Funny you mention Dean. We could not be more different, and that is fine. With no disrespect, Dean takes a duty-bound, loyal, cheerleading approach. He always has an explanation when things go south and truly believes in and supports the coaches and players. Any poster who shows discouragement or is wavering in their support is not viewed as a dedicated fan to him; or at least I was not a true fan in his eyes. He likes to take victory laps prematurely and will never directly blame Wentz for Rivera for errors and mistakes. He has that right and I am not trying to discredit or insult him.

I am more of an analytical fan and try to support my conclusions with data and history. I do not believe in being "loyal" to coaches and call a spade a spade. This obviously irritates others. I do not support Rivera, his coaches, or Wentz. No need to go down that path. To me, this whole trainwreck was obvious from the get go and I said that. I am no prophet, but to me, the Wentz trade was the wrong move and I believe fans are starting to see that. As I said, if he has not worked out other places, why would he magically change and work out here? I never got an answer.

Interestingly enough, you said that we all have opinions and I need to stop having a hissy fit. However, when I demonstrate cognitive liberty and do not get on board with the Rivera and Wentz train...I am told to "get out". I was literally told to leave multiple times because was not a true fan. I believe that is a first for this forum. As such, I left.

Hopefully, we can all agree that the organization needs to be cleansed: from Snyder, down to the coaches and underperforming players. No need to respond back.
