Maybe late day 3, IDK. Read about him on Chicago SB nation.

QUARTERBACK

First-Team: Carson Strong, Nevada

Strong has been one of the handful of big-time breakouts at quarterback in the Group of 5, and it’s all thanks to his deep ball. Strong and the Wolf Pack have taken a bit more aggressive approach this year, and it has paid dividends. The second-year starter rose his deep (20-plus yard) passing grade from 62.7 in 2019 to 91.5 this season and more than doubled his deep completions, passing yards and touchdowns. And Strong didn’t just throw it 20 or 25 yards downfield most of the time. He threw more 40- and 50-yard passes than anyone this season, and unlike most on those throws, Strong still found success. He had four passing touchdowns on throws over 50-yards downfield this year. The rest of the entire FBS combined has just eight.

What draft lessons can we learn from the new Lions regime’s past? (usatoday.com)

Expect a running back at some point

Lions believe RB D'Andre Swift can be a 25-touch-per-game player (nfl.com)
Lynn, the Lions new offensive coordinator, said Wednesday that he believes Swift should be a significant part of the passing game as the lead-back while adding they need to "find someone else to go with him," indicating adding a bigger-built runner is in the cards for Detroit.

Don't expect an off-ball linebacker early

They won't be afraid to aggressively target a quarterback early

WRs from after the 1st round are good bets

Not what I wanted to hear but I will reserve judgement until after FA.

It's been a commonplace happening to him for years.

not that I wish it to occur.

Mental stress.

Would need to trade all the picks from the stafford trade and a first this year and probably another first just to start negotiations.

I gotta side with @gvsulaker82 on this.

Look at the haul Indy received from NYJ in 2018 for Darnold. That's only moving up from #6 to #3

NYJ gave up their 2018 overall picks in #6, #37, #49 and then add in 2019 2nd round pick which ended up being #34.

It didn't matter if you used the Jimmy Johnson chart or the Rich Hill chart. The NYJ had to overpay

Pick #3 2200 JJ chart ----- NYJ gave up 2805 pts. NYJ 2019 2nd rd pick is considered 1/2 value of current year (2018) 2nd round

Pick #3 514 RH chart ----- NYJ gave up 827 pts.

I've gone through the values of trades for more than 15 years and 85% of the time the values match up to the JJ chart within 5% of total point value.

There are a few trades where team X trades down and doesn't obtain true value according to either chart.

I’d love to see somebody give up picks for Goff. 2nd and a 3rd and I’d be pumped.

I wouldn't be opposed to this one bit.

so long as I could indulge in the basement reserve while the trade is going down.

I could be happy twice all in the same timeframe.
