goes to show how little the top guys care about the bottom guys. it kills the lower end salaries. they learned nothing about the lockouts.

I hope you're including the owners in "they" above Matty.

Yeah, the agents keep pushing the upper end salaries up and squeezing out the lower end - and the gm's can do nothing about it unless they want to ice an AHL caliber team - they need to pony up the bucks

Perhaps after the next lockout, the league will realize the agents, players, and gm's cannot control themselves and just go to a MLS style salary cap with designated players.

My opinion on Dupper, if he is not resigned by end of day today, he won't be. The Pens won't offer him more than what Kunitz just got. Perhaps the only sticking point is the 4th year. But Kunitz contract sets the bar for Dupper (for the Pens). Take it or leave it.

I still think Bluejackets is where he'll end up.

I don't want him at all, but if he comes with a 5 mil price tag, I will lose my fucking mind.

Players listen to agents, who are only interested in how much money they personally can get. Without that retarded agent lining Bobrovsky up to shoot himself in the foot, his deal is done at 5.5, But that agent is going to blow it for him by dangling the KHL and the 10 million.

Jarmo said "The most important thing is that we fill the room with guys who want to be there."

Bob (though his agent) pushes that button too many more times and the Jackets will walk away.

Why would the Ducks & Flames be giving up more than Vancouver in these propose ridiculous trades?Schroeder isn't anywhere near the player Etem & Baertschi are.

No way I would give up that much for Letang, but then again, I'm not Jay Feaster.

The Ducks one is the funny one...you'd think, for consistency's sake, they'd make them all equally ridiculous.

Stuck in NYC traffic, might as well tweet the results of a survey I do with NHL scouts on respective "best of" for prospects.
- Prospect most ready to step into NHL and play now: Nathan MacKinnon tops, Seth Jones runner up.
- Prospect with the most complete game: Aleksander Barkov with the win over Nathan MacKinnon.
- Biggest draft day Wild Card prospect: Winger Valery Nichushkin, with 8 out of 10 votes.
- Prospect with the best shot: Brandon dman Ryan Pulock. Seth Jones got a couple of votes too.
- Fastest skater: Nathan MacKinnon.
- Jonathan Drouin was runaway leader in 3 categories: best puckhandler, best playmaker, best hockey sense. And it wasn't close in any of them.
- Biggest/hardest hitter: London Knight defenceman Nikita Zadorov.
- Toughest prospect: Sam Morin with slight lead over J-I Diaby and Ryan Hartman.
- Best agitator: Plymouth's Ryan Hartman with clear win but guy he fought in Prospects Game Kerby Rychel got a couple of votes.
- Best pure goal-scorer: Anthony Mantha with the win over Drouin, MacKinnon, Shinkaruk. Mantha scored 50 this season.

I have a question regarding LUONGO. Have any of you heard anthing possibly regarding the following:

There's a guy on the Isles fansite that seems to believe Garth is waiting out Gillis. That if Gillis can't find a better deal, Luongo will be dealt to the Isles for Dipietro & maybe a B/C prospect. He says this is why the Isles haven't said they're going to buyout Dipietro yet. This guy has been correct about a few things in the past, but wrong about others. I just want to know if anyone has heard about the possibility.

Dreger saying the canucks are showing Schneider now too. I don't think Gillis knows what he's doing right now.

You know if I had a choice of Letang or Pietrangelo, I'd take former Blues defenseman for $7 million Alex.

Canucks considering trading Schneider; Oilers interested

TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reported Saturday morning that his sources indicate the Canucks are considering moving their 27-year-old netminder and that the Edmonton Oilers might well be in on the action.

Dreger continued that the talks may be a contingency plan in the event the team is unable to move Roberto Luongo, who has been the subject of trade rumours for more than a year.

The asking price is believed to start with a first round draft pick and a prospect, according to Dreger, though he added that the talks may simply believed to be a way to gauge Schneider's worth on the open market.
