I really don't get why they hate drafting interior linemen before the 5th round so much. It hasn't really worked for them
Its truly puzzling why they would neglect the top needs and widely recognized core positions of the game year after year after year.

But it has worked for them enough. When the LOB was around they also had a stout Run defense. You need just the gritty guys up front that fight for you. since 2015 they would have a down year then a better year then a down year. It wasn't until 2021-22 seasons that they dropped twice in rush defense. Sure it has not been consistent but they have bounced up and down from respectable to bad. Only time they were consistent was during the height of the LoB days. Issue has been the rotating door we have had on the Dline. Right now i dont see that ending any time soon which is sad to say.

Hall was a 4-3 DE that has good movement skills and high motor but don't we have enough 4-3 DE's on this team? I get that he is athletic enough to play OLB in a 4-3 and then some but then if he doesn't transition like he looks like he easily could then we are stuck with another DE on a team loaded with young talented 4-3 type DE's in a positional group that is way to fat now.

There has to be serviceable backups late though
That is the confusing thing I had with the dude on KJR, he talked about how great the Chiefs and Eagles were at rushing but when you looked at their backs, it was Sanders for the Eagles then nobodies on either side.

So what do you guys think the philosophy is for not picking any of their weaknesses? Is it truly as simple as the best player available with the first 2 and Charbonnet

Could be, they got the top CB and top WR in the first even though Neither were huge needs they got great value.

Those two will be fun to watch go up against each other in training camp

I was honestly fine with the 1st round picks. I can even agree that they were the right picks. Witherspoon has a chance to be a truly lock down corner with great ball hawk abilities. Pair him with Woolen on the other side and Bryant in the nickel and that can really help your pass rush.

JSN was a great value pick and provided his injury issues this year were just a bad year, he is a game changer in the slot. Passing attacks are what win Super Bowls these days so having a great passing attack makes sense.

But things just don't make a ton of sense on Day 2. Derrick Hall seems like a fine enough player. But how many players like Hall do we need? Nwosu, Taylor, Robinson, Mafe and now Hall.

And Charbonet simply makes no sense at all. I get that we need a RB. Despite the fact that we have drafted at least 1 RB in every draft but one since 2015, and that one we only had 3 picks. And yet here we are spending another high pick on a RB.

I just don't get this at all. I realize that they know 10X more about football than I do, but how can they POSSIBLY think that this defense will EVER stop the run this year?

Interior OL good deal, hear he has experience at multiple positions.

He can play tackle or guard. Either way great depth and probably an eventual starter given Lewis is bound to go down at some point. Solid pick, not a major steal, but a good pick.

Surprised with the way the FO has drafted but I'm mostly good with it. Hated the RB pick in the 3rd round. Could have waited later and picked up a D or O lineman.

Please be a DT with our next puck. I also wouldn't mind one of the top 3 centers currently on the board but one of them should survive to our 5th round pick
