Tinkerbelle?
Post of the day! Although I'm not in agreement because of the high school, I couldn't care less about that. White has pitched more games in the big leagues than Hjelle and he has looked worse than Hjelle in that time. And look at White's usage. Since being picked up by the Giants 11 days ago he has pitched all of one game. And he went 1 inning, giving up 2 runs on 2 hits and a walk (no strikeouts). I still don't understand why they grabbed him.

I did not expect Hanchey to even be with a team this early in the season (or even be in the org). He seemed like an afterthought signing last year and was destined for, at best, bouncing around the farm as filler. Maybe he still will do so but he is making the most of his playing time right now.

Matos is nose diving pretty hard.

I am not too worried about kids hitting bad spells in the minors, though. It gives them an opportunity to bounce back and show resolve. But we already saw this from Matos. We need him go door hunting with his boots locked and loaded for kicking.

Any word about Schmitt’s defense? I would love to see what he could do in the majors again. But while both Ahmed and Chapman are hitting like shit, they are both positive players due to their gloves.

The problem with Ahmed and Chapman is that their bats are just part of the bigger problem for the Giants - lack of offense. If the Giants have an opportunity to upgrade both positions offensively but possibly lose a bit defensively in the process, should they do so?

Luckily, 2 of of our higher-rated prospects are at those positions (Schmitt and Lucy). So this question is not just academic.

problem is, any other 3b/SS combo wouldn't be a "lose a little bit" defensively.

They need to upgrade the OF. that's the only legit path I see.

Lee has bad numbers, but he is barreling. He will be fine.

I want to see Ramos get serious time. This is his last option year. Shit or go.

Matos will be up eventually, but ultimately, he isn’t an all-star, so I don’t care too much.

Better to send Fitz down and bring up one of our infield prospects?

So we can go from "little team speed" to "no team speed"?

Baseball is trending towards speed, and the Giants, as per usual, have a hard time moving runners from 1st to 3rd. (That and the wonderful coaching they are getting about getting picked off at 1st.)

Maybe Fitz needs to get more time in the outfield

I agree but in order for us to bring someone up someone needs to go down. Who will it be?
I’m sure someone is “hurting” right now. And Ahmed could be let go. After all, the rationale about moving on from Crawford and signing Ahmed is that it would be easier to transfer to Luciano when he was ready.

But is Lucy ready? I keep hearing his defense needs lots of work. I have always expected he would move to 3B, at least, LF more likely. I am not sure his bat is good enough for LF, though. At least not yet.
