According to this, the RiverCats will stay put in Sacramento while the A's play there as well. I'm sure this will work out completely fine.

Per MLBTR:
Sacramento’s Sutter Health Park will remain a natural-grass stadium when the Athletics begin play next season, a league spokesperson told the media (including The Athletic’s Evan Drellich). Since the Giants’ Triple-A affiliate will continue sharing the ballpark with the A’s, the initial idea was to install an artificial surface for 2025 and beyond, as a grass field will take quite a bit of wear-and-tear from two full schedules’ worth of games. However, players still preferred even a beaten-up grass surface to turf, as playing on an artificial surface outdoors in California would’ve routinely raised on-field temperatures to well over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, even for some night games. “In light of the players’ clear preference for natural grass, and after weighing with the MLBPA the potential risks and benefits of maintaining natural grass versus replacing the playing surface with synthetic turf, all the parties are aligned in moving forward with a natural grass field for Opening Day 2025,” the spokesperson said.

What could possibly go wrong?

Bryce Eldridge has been removed from the Arizona Fall League. The Giants' No. 1 prospect batted .293 with 2 homers in 10 games.

Probably shutting him down so that he can rest up for ST.

He is only 19 and has had a MASSIVE year. Let the kid relax a bit and recharge.

Well done, kid. Keep it up!

The Giants have to hit on a monster bat, eventually, don't they....Well maybe not from recent outcomes, but it is possible.. Fingers Crossed.

Giants signed Juan Mercedes to a minor league deal last week. He put up some good numbers with the Mariners' AA squad last year. I hope that he gets a chance to start with Sacramento in 2025 but I could also see him drafted in the Rule 5 Draft next month. He is young and isn't far from the big league level. A rebuilding team could take a chance on him.

Who is Joel Peguero? Is he a new international signing?

hopefully they'll keep the pressure off and let him mature at his own rate. i'd rather see a productive career start in '27 than a fizzle in '25-'26
We shall see. The more I think about it, the more I think other members of this board are correct and he will start 2025 in AA. However, if he has a hot couple of months in AA, he will be in AAA by early July. What if he continues to produce there? Do the Giants wait to give him a cup of coffee until 2026 or let him get his feet wet in late 2025?

I think he starts in AA, but they will cut his brake line, so if he starts hot, they won’t wait too long to send him to Sacto. If he does start in Sacto, there is almost a certainty that he gets AT LEAST his cuppo this year, and likely graduates.

His start in 2025 will surely be interesting to watch, regardless which level he begins at. There is a concern, on my part, that he will not do well in 2025 but that may just be due to a lot of prospects stalling out in the past 10 years. I hope he is the exception.

We as Giants Fans have been traumatized by these prospects looking good then Flaming Out I am with You and hope he (Bryce Eldridge) turns out to be a hitting superstar rather than a solid hitter or even worse a Bust that we have been given too often by this organization.

They have to becarefull how they approach this. I was living in NY when the Mets brought up Strawberry from the minors. Similar looking to Eldridge. Very very talented. They painted hom as the next coming of a superstar. The expections that wete set were off the charts. They actually were comparing him to Ted Williams at one point. Strawberry had it all ...

He struggled quite a bit for rhe first two months. Everyone started to question if he was anything like hie was presented as. The pressure was horrible. Not sure who took him uner their wing but he xhanged. He found himself and he stated to look like what he was projected to be. Not an easy path I'm guessing g. I've seen stories that it was the batting coach who grounded him and put him back on track. But his first 2 nonths were really pressure filled.

I know that there were a lot of moving parts in Strawberry's life but I wonder how all that played into his drug use (assuming that he wasn't already taking by then).

I think his rise to stardom was a key to the drig issues. Made tons of money and I'm sure everything and anything he wantled was available to him. Also guessing his relationship to Gooden didnt help either. I also think that driug use back in those days was quite a bit more prevalent than one would think.
