Dude needs to play. If not in SF then in Sac.
Don't really understand that rationale. He's hit well in AAA already. He has nothing left to prove there. The Giants have a need in their lineup for decent hitters. He's shown some flashes in his sporadic playing time with the Giants. He should have gotten more playing time but not given it. He isn't young for a prospect. He should be in SF but would probably prefer being there on the bench than starting in AAA.

It's not so black and white though. Do they need decent hitters? Yes. Would he be a decent hitter getting 3 or 4 ABs a week? Maybe not. I don't think it's about proving anything at AAA but rather getting the opportunity. His time will come if he keeps hitting.

The problem would be solved if he got more playing (or at least proven he needed to go to AAA). He showed nothing worth a demotion so Wisely could stay up

Again, I’m going on the assumption that the FO are not idiots. Maybe Wise handles sporadic ABs better than Fitz

Maybe not idiots but that doesn't mean that they always make good, logical decisions. What in Wisely's work would give them an indicator that Wisely handles sporadic at bats better than Fitzgerald?
Could it be that someone who has the power to make decisions just likes Wisely better than Fitzgerald and doesn't give two cents about whether Fitzgerald has contributed when he gets the chance? Maybe Fitzgerald is a jerk and Wisely is not. Or Wisely has a more likeable personality. Or Wisely has an approach that just strikes the decision maker the right way.

It may have been a punishment for getting picked off in a situation where you absolutely CAN NOT get picked off.

Exactly my point. Dozens of things we can’t know.

The Giants are promoting pitching prospect Dylan Cumming to Double-A. Cumming had a 1.87 ERA with 50 strikeouts against 10 walks in 33.2 innings with Eugene.

Grant McCray (AA) is slashing .304/.402/.633 (185 wRC+) with 8 2B, 3 3B, and 4 HR in 92 plate appearances since May 1. After a slow start, he has heated up nicely.

Allan Cerda added to Richmond -- minor league FA from the Reds

24 yo OF...looks like a pure lottery ticket. Some power, lots of whiff. Good defender.

Looks like a fourth OF in Richmond.

Strange how the Giants don’t produce any standout position players from their farm system. Can’t remember the last guy they hit big with

Agreed. Giants always seem to be developing pitching, not hitting.

Posey did ok

Crawford did ok

Belt did ok

Reynolds did ok....for the Pirates

Other than that, nobody recently, though the crop coming up seem promising.

I miss that days of Matthews (Sarge), Maddux and Bonds (Sr) in the oF, all home grown. Before that is was Mays, McCovey, Marichal, Hart, Fuentes, etc. Those days are long gone.

Barry should have been homegrown. They let him go back to ASU for his second year. The difference was like $10k.
