Heliot Ramos is slashing .375/.392/.813 with 5 2B, 2 3B, 4 HR, and 12 RBI in 48 PA since returning to Sacramento on July 3. There have been some subtle improvements to his batted ball profile (42.9% GB rate in AAA) and overall, he just looks like a more confident hitter.
The big reason I'd not want to see him traded this year. He may finally be rounding into form. Sure, some would say trade him now while his value is going up a bit but it is still down from a couple of years ago and I think it is worth seeing if he can handle big league pitching.

Luciano is off to a good start with the River Cats. In 5 games, he has gone 6 for 20, with 2 doubles and a home run, along with 2 walks. However, he has also struck out 8 times.

The strange story of Melvin Adon continues. You all probably remember of him being a younger prospect of note about 7 years ago. However, he struggled as a starter in the lower minors before getting moved to the bullpen in 2019, when he was 25.
Then the pandemic hit in 2020 and he got injured and missed all of 2021. Meanwhile, I kept trying to figure out why he wasn't a minor league free agent when he was around long enough to be eligible. Well, the Giants must have liked him enough to sign him to a multiple year minor league deal.
He finally got healthy toward the end of 2022 and pitched some in the ACL, San Jose and Richmond. He looked rusty but not too bad.
So he got assigned to Sacramento to start this year and got absolutely torched there (which is not uncommon for 2/3rds of the pitching staff to get rocked there).
He disappeared from their roster on June 11th so I thought the book was finally closed on his time in the Giants' org and he got released. Nope. The Giants reassigned him to the ACL.
He spent 16 days on the ACL Black squad before disappearing from their roster. He pitched well so I thought maybe he was going up the ladder. Instead, he got moved from the ACL Black to the ACL Orange squad. He got lit up in one appearance with them and then was moved to San Jose on June 29th.
In almost a month with SJ, he pitched in 6 games, posting an ERA of 0.00 and a WHIP of 0.90. Not surprising for a 29 year old in low A ball. So on July 22nd, the Giants decided to move him all the way back up to AAA. He hasn't yet pitched since the move back up, but it will be interesting to see how he does the rest of the season.

The Giants have released reliever Joey Marciano. Marciano was a 36th-round pick in 2017 and he 6.75 ERA in 31 appearances with Sacramento this year. Good fastball and high strikeout numbers.

36th rounder putting together a 6-year career. Good for him. Congrats.

Great to see him advance so quickly. Any word on his defense?

I am legit concerned about his power, though. If you are not a threat to go yard, MLB pitchers will eat your lunch all day long.

He had a pretty good story too. Retired during the 2019 season and came back in 2022. He deserved a call up mid season of 2022 but never got it. He then fell apart.

That leaves only Heliot Ramos (1st), Seth Corry (3rd), Bryce Johnson (6th) and Shane Matheny (23rd) in the organization from the 2017 draft.

22 yo lefty reliever just got promoted to Sacto. Probably won’t factor in THIS year, but I think he definitely should be on radars for next year. Maybe out of ST.

With Diaz getting claimed by the Tigers, there are a mere 7 players on the RiverCats' roster who've played a game at either 2nd base or shortstop this season. I wonder when FZ will get that middle infield shored up down there? Its like he is completely ignoring this incredible organizational need.

Depth move, no downside. Right?

Well, the Giants already have depth in AAA that they are unwilling to tap. He just creates a logjam there.

Looks like we won't see Luciano for a while, he is going to be out for at least a month due to a hamstring issue. We may not see him again in 2023.

Injuries are going to be a thing with this kid.
