Frank Rubio 2.0-1-0-0-1-3
So this is pretty awesome: Logan Webb learned he was getting promoted to AA after manager Lipso Nava pulled him out of the game in the 5th after another scoreless game. He was embraced by his teammates on the field before exiting. Webb has bee terrific this year with a 1.82 ERA IN THE CAL LEAGUE! He's given up just 4 ER in his last 31.1 innings with 39 Ks and 18 hits allowed.
A: Augusta GreenJackets was postponed
A-: Salem-Keizer Volcanoes WON 9-7 (23-21)
Joey Bart 2-5, 2 2B, 2 RBI
Diego Rincones 3-5, 2 RBI, 1 R
Kyle McPherson 2-5, 2B, 2 R
Aaron Bond 1-4, HR (3rd), 2 RBI, 1 R, 1 K
Mikey Edie 3-4, 2B, 2 R
Joey Bart is now batting .341 with a 1.169 OPS over 20 games in the NWL. Don't sleep on his teammates Diego Rincones or Mikey Edie, though. Rincones is batting .360 with a .906 OPS over 31 games, while Edie is batting .350 with an .846 OPS. Both guys have had some hype coming out of the Dominican League in recent years, for different reasons.
Rincones has a great feel for hitting and can put the barrel on the ball. His other tools are lacking, but guys that can hit find a way. Edie meanwhile is an athletic player who maybe hasn't developed as an all-around guy as some thought, but seems to finally be brewing something up.
