Sal Pal said they same thing and frankly, I don't understand that view. I think these guys understand the short window to make huge bucks in this game and timing is everything.

The biggest reason why we could lose Murray is the agent saving face. It happens much more than you would think.

Egos are probably more likely deals don't happen quite often, probably more often with JJ and agents I would think

If we miss out on Murray would anybody be on board with a CJ Spiller and (dare I say it?!) Ray Rice backfield? If not Ray Rice, a Spiller/Rookie tandem? The 2 combined would likely make less than Murray.

Hard to say...can Spiller stone wall a rusher or is he a guy that sits on 3rd down. I really don't know but I think that factors.

Jerry might make a play for AP. He wants out of Minny.

That would be a talented, high risk, high reward way to go. I'd give Murray the extra money. If healthy, he's a sure thing

I'm sure he would love to come to Dallas. If I'm the Vikings, I ask for the Cowboys 1st and 3rd, nothing less. Then you have to pay him.....

Maybe even like the Murray re-signing "pipedream" so many had here before? ....just my :2cents:

My problem with AP is you have to sacrifice assets for him. We pretty much need all of the draft picks we have and AP won't come cheap.

Cowboys 'know they've lost' RB Murray to Eagles

Free agent running back DeMarco Murray is on his way to visit the Eagles and is expected to sign with them, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter. Murray paced the NFL with 1,845 rushing yards last season as he helped Dallas to the playoffs.

With Murray on his way out, the Cowboys are "calling around" for other running backs, Schefter added. The Cowboys "know they've lost" Murray to their divisional rivals, per Schefter.

Yahoo Sports reported Murray was upset with the Cowboys' most recent offer of $5 million annually. Murray's father, Kevin Murray, told the Dallas Morning News on Thursday morning that his 27-year-old son headed to Philly with an open mind, prepared to give Dallas a chance to increase its offer.

“My impression from talking to him this morning is that he loves his coach, he loves his teammates and the Dallas fans,” Kevin Murray told the paper, “but he's just hurt that something hasn't happened to lure him not to take the trip right now."

With Murray poised to join Chip Kelly's offense, former Chargers running back Ryan Mathews might back out on his previously reported agreement with Philly. Mathews would struggle for touches in a backfield featuring Murray, Darren Sproles and goal-line specialist Chris Polk.

I take it you wouldn't do this? I know if I wascin demand I'd get two companies in a bidding war.
Having a team approach you and calling them up is two different things

Could this be why they signed Ryan Williams to a 2 year deal?

I have maintained for about a week now here, that Jerry and this team where just posturing for something else besides Murray (whether it be a cheaper FA RB, they draft a RB, or go after AP), but was told to go and get rocks by the Murray fans here. If Jerry wanted to re-sign Murray all-along, he would have done so a long, long, time ago imo, and not haggle over a few more million pesos....some people are just gullible I guess, and listen only to the public posturing done by team's front offices through the media, out of blind loyalty to a player.

Thoughts from the Playmaker. I agree.

“There is a mentality that goes on with a certain group of guys and DeMarco fits the mentality of what Dallas is doing.”
“You can try to stick another person back there and come up with the same results – you can ask the Seattle Seahawks.”
“A lot of people…are talking out of their booty if they think they could stick just anybody back there.”
On Jerry Jones/Murray: “He’s trying to sign him, trying to find a way but trying to find a way at the best price he can.”
“No matter where the price goes, if Jerry Jones wants to sign him, he can sign him.”
“You have a man that just led the league in rushing. What message does it send to the rest of your team to leave him out?”

You've been posturing for the Cowboys getting AP. You may have been advocating Murray leaving for that to happen, but that is still a long shot. Lets not get carried away here saying you were right all along.

Hearing guaranteed money if the big difference in the Cowboys and Eagles offer. This gets weirder and weirder. Jerry short on cash these days?

He could have just added a few more bowl games to his AT&T venue and BAM more money for Jerry, problem solved. Something about Murray had Jerry put off by him some kind of way, that is the only thing that makes much sense

What was the rap on Jerry for years now? That he got too involved with his players and he would over pay.
Regardless if it's Steven whispering in his ear or not, we have become frugal for the benefit of the team.

No offense, but it was only a matter of time for some blow hard to ask "what message does it send"
when a couple of years ago he was probably raking Jerry over the coals for what he was spending on some contracts.

Oh I see your talking about Irving ...I guess that makes it worse.
