Head scratcher indeed. Murray was 26 last year lol......... Imagine the 90's Cowboys, when Emmitt held out a couple of games coming off his rookie deal, if Jerry let Emmitt go to the Eagles over guaranteed money...... how would that have worked out.....Guess maybe he would have signed if Jerry had offered him 7M to begin with but I think he was set on 8M per. Maybe it wasn't the AAV, maybe JJ just didn't want to pay him a $20+ million dollar signing bonus? Still a head scratcher but maybe we get a younger, less injury prone, very productive back in the draft? One can only hope McClay and Co. find us the replacements we need
Could also be Murray's camp and the Eagles both trying to stick Jerry in a bad spot. If Murray's intention is to not sign with the Eagles, but to put Jerry in a bad spot. I could see them teaming up as both have something to gain and not really anything to lose.
Murray isn't a traitor he did what was best for him and his family. We still should be the favorite to win the division.
It's a done deal. Seriously can't believe itReport: Eagles to give DeMarco Murray $21 million guaranteed
Thu, 12 Mar 2015 1:54 PM ET
The Eagles are expected to give running back DeMarco Murray a five-year contract worth a total of $42 million, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen.
Included in that deal will be $21 million guaranteed.
The Eagles are unlikely recipients of Murray's services, considering they had a deal in place for former Chargers running back Ryan Mathews. But Murray reportedly called Eagles coach Chip Kelly personally and expressed interest in joining his team.
From there, negotiations took off between the Eagles and Murray. Mathews has yet to sign any paperwork and could back out of the agreed upon deal.
Behind the Cowboys' offensive line, Murray led the NFL in rushing with 1,845 yards and 13 touchdowns. The Cowboys were reportedly offering Murray a contract that would average roughly $5 million per season.
When it gets this far the deals are usually getting close to done
LOL...no kiddingBest for my family is not asking then to live in Philly.
He could have just added a few more bowl games to his AT&T venue and BAM more money for Jerry, problem solved. Something about Murray had Jerry put off by him some kind of way, that is the only thing that makes much sense
Why the Eagles are a non-factor. Who are there wr's ?I am sick!! Anyone, but the Eagles.

Is any one concerned with the total amount of touches that Murray had last year and how history points to the fact most rb's don't produce at a high level following this type of season? Not because of his production, because of his carries and total touches. Many rb's have multiple productive years but I think I heard on the radio today when rb's have 350+ carries in a single season the following season usually is pretty mediocre. Murray had 392 carries followed by 57 receptions.
I honestly will say looking forward to seeing the traitor being on ir
all that can be said is they held the line on the $$'s they were prepared to spend and it's appear they were not near that 20M guaranteed most expected after McCoy signing.Hats off to the Eagles - they got a really good player and a good lockeroom guy. I know some are upset including myself but i think JJ did the right thing. I'm sure they have a backup plan. This one stings to me the most because of the chunk of chemistry lost.
