Beat me to it.

Came out of left field really.

I'm wondering who we're shipping out and what we're bringing in.

Hopefully we got a bite on Chris Johnson, but that's highly doubtful.

I just read a "young starter will go from the Braves into the Dodgers' rotation"

Hopefully it's Teheran. But I doubt it. I just hope it's not Shelby Miller or Alex Wood.

Looks like Jim Johnson and Alex Wood. LA would have to give up something significant in return I am assuming.

Yeah, I'm also reading that our number 1 prospect, Jose Peraza could be involved. If so, I'm gonna be more than slightly upset if we don't get something worth having out of this deal.

Alex Wood was my favorite pitcher on the team, I hate to see him go.

I have no inside knowledge but I am assuming that Wood and maybe Peraza will head to Philly or Detroit as part of a Hamels or Price trade.

I also read Tyson Ross just left the SD bench in the middle of the game. Everything is happening very fast for all of these trades.

Yeah, and it's only Wednesday night.

Just got home from the gym. Time to try to put these puzzle pieces together. Nothing is official and everything can still change.

DODGERS
Mat Latos - SP
Alex Wood - SP (L)
Jim Johnson - RP
Luis Avilan - RP (L)
Mike Morse - 1B/OF/PH
Jose Peraza - INF Prospect (mostly 2B)

BRAVES
Hector Olivera - 2B/3B Prospect
Paco Rodriguez - RP (L)
Zach Bird - P Prospect
Miami's Competive Balance Draft Pick

MARLINS
Jeff Brigham - P Prospect
?????? - P Prospect(?)
?????? - P Prospect(?)

What's not seen above is how much money is being saved by Atlanta and Miami. Hector Olivera is barely going to cost more that $5M/year for the next 6 years.

Exactly, "everything" might change, but thanks for taking the time to regurgitate everything that is already out there!
That's what kills me about you, you put material on here that people should already know. Do you think we don't check online for the latest news, no I'm sure you think everyone is waiting for Villian to come on here and tell us the inside scoop, because it gets sent straight to your basement before anything is officially released!

We're just waiting to see if the Braves bitch out because of Olivera's elbow.

Exactly, that is what has me nervous about the whole deal.

Do you think we still go after Price? I wonder what they would want in return. I bet they would want Wood for sure.

It'll probably go through.

Yes, I think they still go after him (not sure they actually him, though -- the Dodgers are not as desperate as the other suitors for Price, who knows what they're willing to give up...). I'm sure you're right about Wood. Hopefully that can be avoided. If it's Price for Wood, straight up, I can probably live with that - but Wood is more valuable than Price because he's under team control until 2019.

This Front Office is ridiculously creative. We should honestly just give up on speculation at this point. I doubt we could ever come up with predictions on what they might do. I never would've dreamed up this trade. It's brilliant. 12 players and a draft pick? Unbelievable.

Oh and Jim Johnson is stupidly good. He's having a great year. This bullpen just got a HUGE boost with his addition. Paco and Avilan are basically a wash.

I'd rather see Peraza, and maybe another prospect like Zach Lee get flipped to Detroit than Wood. Peraza is the Braves' best prospect and he's 26th best according to Baseball America. He's kinda like Dee Gordon. Speedy 2B, slap hitter, doesn't walk. He's never going to be valuable than he is now, IMHO.

The other two Dodgers minor leaguers going to Miami seem to be Victor Araujo and Kevin Guzman. Nothing painful there - they were middle of the pack prospects.

I'm so glad the Dodgers didn't beat that Toronto trade. Toronto gave up too much for a 2-month rental.

The Dodgers are basically giving up Olivera, some middling prospects, and eating about $55 million.

Dodgers can always chase him this winter if need be (if Greinke goes elsewhere).
