Assuming your team needs a QB, do you draft the guy?

Pros: Great speed, powerful arm, agility.

Cons: Won the Heismann (which is a curse), may lack maturity, tend to throw INT's when pressured.

Discuss.

Not me. At least not if McCarron is on the board. Or Bridgewater. Or winston.

This QB class is tough. I really don't like any of them to be a solid QB. Bridgewater maybe, but it is hard to say. I actually would go with Murray or Mettenberger before any of these guys IMO

Much of what johnny ping pong does in college will get a man killed in the NFL. But I believe he has a great future ahead of him.

He wouldn't be my first choice next year. McCarron, Boyd, Bridgewater and Murry come to mind as QB's I would take before Manziel. But if those guys are gone, I would take Manziel in a heartbeat.

seems like manziel will be injury plagued in the NFL, but who knows. the guy's throwing ability is underrated.

i'd take him, but probably not in the top half of the first round which is when most teams desperate for a QB take one.

and ironbreaker: i think it's safe to say jameis winston won't be on the board (assuming manziel declares this year)

I don't think anything is safe concerning Winston right now.

Winston wont be coming out next yer obviously so Id probably take Bridgewater, McCarron in that order. I think Jordan Lynch may be the best out of all these guys but tough to draft him first from the MAC. Though its been done before.

well he is a redshirt freshman and isn't eligible for the draft...

What if he gets charged with sexual assault and the university boots him?

What if he only gets probation?

Late 1st or early 2nd round. I just have a funny feeling he just isn't going to do that well in the NFL. Half his success is his legs. At 6' 1" he just isn't big enough to take on LB's in the NFL, so running is going to be limited. If he tries running, he will get hurt. Plus everyone is fast in the NFL, so his legs aren't going to be the advantage in the NFL as they are in college. Good passer, but there are better out there.

I'd draft him, but not early. I think he has value in the 2nd round or even late first. Using a pick in the top half of the first round is a waste on him IMO.

Derek Carr after Bridgewater IMO.
