Looks like Bryz's act is getting tired on the other side of the Atlantic as well...

KHL hockey team CSKA Moscow intends to release Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov from his lockout contract on Monday, a team source told R-Sport on Sunday.

CSKA had announced that Bryzgalov had skipped Sunday's 4-2 defeat of Dynamo Moscow due to injury, but the source said it was because the 32-year-old wanted out.

The thing is, Ilya is leaving the team," the source said. "Officially they'll announce it on Monday. The reason, most likely, is that the lockout should be over pretty soon in Bryzgalov's opinion.

Bryzgalov has played 12 games for CSKA since arriving from Philadelphia on September 21, winning six and with a 91 percent save rate.

This doesn't sound good (more like take it or leave it from the league again).

DarrenDreger: NHL has asked players to respond to all issues collectively and doesn't want to have to negotiate item by item. We will see how PA counters.

From Bruce Garrioch...

"We're going to find out how bad the NHL wants a season," said a union source.

I think they are afraid the PA will say "we will take the make whole money and the buyouts but we want to talk about the rest." The NHL is saying if you want to change X you need to give on Y

We will also find out if the PA wants a season. If they reject the NHL deal and come back with another outside the box deal, the season is over.

Exactly, that works both ways. If the PA makes an awful offer instead of a reasonable one/accept this one, they're going to lose. Lets hope Fehr sets aside the ego and realizes that.

The league has moved closer to the NHLPA's last offer (the early December one that prompted Bettman's emotional presser). It only makes sense for the union to move as well. As long as they each move a little bit, they should eventually converge to a deal.

Just ridiculous that the NHL waits so long before their conter-offers. Don't know why this couldn't be made three weeks ago. Oh wait, they wanted to play public relations games and try to break the player's will. Idiots.

By the way, even if a deal is reached soon, anyone else think Bettman is done? The hardline owners will be pissed that the NHL caved on so many demands, and the others will be pissed that so many games were wasted for so little. If the NHL bounces back slowly, and has trouble winning back some television markets, I think it's bye-bye.

Could almost make this whole thing worth it.

Asked Eric Staal today if he'd like or need exhibition game or two before season was started. His reply: "Let's just go."

Being told that, as part of a counter proposal, NHLPA will try to make future expansion and relocation fees part of hockey related revenue.

Oh man, that's the golden goose for the league, that's going to be trouble.

Looks like PA is trying to redefine HHR as part of their proposal. The want expantion and relocation fees paid to players (half).
NHL wont like it but may not be a deal killer. The fact that the PA is delaying the meeting means they dont think their offer is good. If they felt their deal had a chance they would want to send it today early so the NHL could review it before the holiday.

I am not sure whether I disagree or not, but doesn't the NHLPA benefit from expansion already by the increase in the amount of players in the union?

But certainly, if the league is doing well and expands because its doing well - and if all the owners get a large amount of cash for expanding, I understand the desire for the NHLPA to get a piece too.

I just don't like the fact that the NHLPA is introducing a new component for HRR (although I do think it does have some merit). I thought that was one issue that had already been put to bed.

It does seem late in the game for this to happen.
