To be a true blue blood all teams should have these boxes checked. Top 10 all time in wins. Multiple Heisman winners. Multiple national titles. Long list of All Americans. Your team is currently 25th in wins all time, 743. A blue blood they are not.

Does 1.5 since start of the AP (1936) count as "multiple"?

There's been a couple of these threads in the past few years and Washington made the list on each and everyone.

Well yeah... if you go through all of the football teams, you're BOUND to have Washington on there.

Were they all blue blood list threads you started? And I'm not trashing your team. What I listed are facts. Every other true blue blood program has the things I mentioned in comment # 20.

You damn right

Wow, so enough Husky fans voted to get 6%. Riddle me this, how many “blue bloods” have ever gone 0-12 in a season? Washington is a notch below the real UW in Wisconsin and they aren’t a blue blood.
We had a no win season in 1979.. then things changed. Every single team has had a few down years.. even those top ranked blue bloods..the difference is blue bloods eventually rebound and tend to be competitive year in and year out..

No, blue bloods have down times but they do not go winless in any year.

Not sure everybody understands what 'Blue Blood' means.

One never loses a Blue Blood status in College Football. Personally, I'd rather have Red Blood status which means you are winning now, your program is alive and kicking as opposed to the years of lore behind you in the past.

Clemson isn't a Blue Blood, but they damn sure are a running hot Red Blood right now. What 18 year old gives a shit what Michigan did when Truman was POTUS? Or what Nebraska did when Clinton was getting hummers in the Oval Office?

Rather odd.

Oklahoma never really entered the mix till the 1950s. Michigan was a mainstay well before them for decades. Ohio State was as big as Oklahoma when they really entered the mix, and some time before them; so hard to exclude them as well.

Tennessee has to be included.

Not till the late 60's/70s do Texas and Nebraska really show up. I guess one should include Army and Navy and likely Pittsburgh.

I can see how he'd just put Alabama, USC, and ND up there, but cutting it if between Oklahoma and OSU seemed weird. OSU has more recognized championships, more wins, and a higher winning percentage than Oklahoma. OSU has been one of the most consistent programs in the last 70 years. We've had 6 losing seasons since 1940... Been one of the winningest programs each decade since the middle of the 1900's for the most part.

Living and knowing history is one thing.

The lack of even googling history is a pure shame in this digital age.

You'd think people would know better?

While you may want to kill me, the lack of Michigan is what is most rudimentarily horrific in his 4 team Blue Blood list.

Everyone weights things differently, so I could see how they left michigan off... They really haven't won anything since OSU started winning... Which was a long time ago. michigan does still (temporarily) have the most wins, though.
