I also love how with each post the amt of guaranteed money that you maintain Cousins will seek goes up. First it was $70-80M then $80M+ then $100M and now you refer to this as a blank check. Absolutely nothing has been stated the whole time & you make these accusations while really knowing nothing about what Cousins will request.

the 60-70mg number.

So over 70M is a deal breaker. And you would rather go back into QB purgatory over Dan Snyders money.

Did you happen to peek my post on just how much money we have thrown away on players who either couldnt stay healthy, or did jack dick nadda for us over the last four seasons??

BUt lets stick with your numnber for a moment.

$70M guaranteed over a six year deal..

So $14M in prorate per year.

Throw in a base salary year one of say $6M and he is at a base $20 cap hit year one.

Year two goes up to a base of say $10M and a cap hit of $24M in year two.

Nice but still a lowball. And Im just not willing to get to next year and be in a position where we need to trade half a draft to try and get Darnold. Because lets be honest here, if we start McCoy and finish 6-10... we will sell the farm to try and trade up next year. And that would mean Gruden got fired most likely.

Not this again. lol. The team is not doomed if KC leaves. Say that before you go to sleep tonight

They also are not in a better place dealing him despite what you think.

I think this team has a big set back if KC is dealt. All the guy has done has gotten better with each game, on average. McCoy hasn't played in 2 years and who in FA is better? Are you suggesting Watson take this team deep into the playoffs. Listen, we are so close at becoming a contender it's crazy to me to think they would deal KC for a throw away QB or go back to the drawing board with a rookie. KC is a really good QB,, we haven't had one of those round here in a long long time... he's also just getting into his prime years. If they deal him it will be incredible.

I love the way you guys are rehashing the same points over and over again, but this comment piqued my interest. So, based on what you've written here, why would Kirk sign a 5 or 6 year contract for 70 m when the only real money is what's guaranteed? Just asking.

Actually he wouldnt. He would how ever sign a 5-6 year deal worth around $125-130M total with around $70-80M Guaranteed.

So yes slightly above the Luck deal that worries Dean so much. With $47 million FULLY Guaranteed, a total of $87M guaranteed provided he hits all his playing/roster incentives which are key triggers to add in that extra $40M.

Also the truth doesnt change just because Dean and a few others want to will it so. And its truth that a change at QB right now stands a pretty damn good chance of setting this team back at minimum for the coming season, and possibly for a few more seasons.

Ehh I didn't click the link and Bayless is a complete moron but that doesn't mean he's wrong. Idk what the health of Romos back is but if hes healthy he's damn good. That's not a cousins hater take.

Romo as our QB is about as appealing as Mountain Oysters smothered in chitlins with warm yaks milk to wash it down.

I'm not saying I want him as our qb. There's plenty of reasons why that's less than ideal. But based just on the headline that we'd be more dangerous with him I think that's pretty defensible simply because he's a damn good qb.

Romo can do no wrong in the eyes of Dallas nation, his future as an analyst is assured there if he desires to do so after his playing career ends. There's one sure fire way to taint all of that and going to a divisional rival or league rival and beating the Brokebacks are reasons 1 through infinity in that regard.

How good Romo is not withstanding. And assuming he could stay healthy, I really dont think his skill set fits our system. Our offense is based on reads, going through your progressions and getting the ball OUT of the QBs hands as quickly as possible for the most part.

Romo's game thrives more on roll outs, a STRONG running game to take pressure off of him, and making things happen when a play breaks down. Romo would likely lead to more sacks, which wouldnt be good for his health.

More exciting with Romo, probably. More dangerous... not sold.

I'm not sure I buy all that but we'll have to agree to disagree. I don't think i have the energy to argue over romo unless he somehow ends up our qb lol.

I don't deny that Romo has been a very good QB in the past. However - he will be 37 this season coming off a very bad injury & missing most of the last 2 seasons. We are also talking about a back injury which stays with a person in some manner forever. We are also talking about someone who would likely command a large salary for what would be considered a gamble at best.

At best in this situation the Redskins would get very lucky & Romo would play well for a year or two. They really are not in the position to be going this route. I will give Romo his due as a QB but maintaining that he would be a better fit than Cousins for the Redskins is ridiculous IMO.
