Nope, he doesnt get a free pass. He gets paid like the starter he is and we continue to build the team. You would have us go back into QB hell because you are so concerned about Dan Snyders money. But really its about you not liking Kirk. I think we all get that.

Im not saying don't pay him as a starter. Im saying why pay him as the #1 Qb starter in the league. There is a difference.

If this is your only sticking point, it just shows your hate. Do you seriously believe Kirk will be the highest paid QB in the league for more than say 12 months?? Probably less?? Like I said, if you actually thought Kirk was worth keeping, you wouldnt be bitching about what he might get paid. And in a year, you will be the first person saying... pay Moses what ever it takes to keep him. This I guarantee.

No way about Moses. Especially when we have Nske. Kc doenst belong in that QB group that is going to get paid next year. Simple as that.

Says you. And we have no idea what Kirk is asking for. BUt you assume he is asking for the moon because you want him gone.. .But no way can Moses be greedy and money motivated huh?? Funny how that works.

Dean no like player... player greedy asshole undeserving of what he ask for

Dean like player... no way player would be a greedy prick.

Ugh.. Dean has spoken!!

IM just glad Trents nine sack season has moved him up to multi-cell organism on the old Dean Talentometer. Hell if we are lucky Scherff making the pro bowl might make him a step or two below the awesomeness that is Morgan Moses.

Kirk Cousins trade rumors are here. Do you like that?

Since its out there

Listen to the interview with Jeremiah again. Note the part where he says the team believes in Colt McCoy. That should tell you a lot. This has all the signs of “team sources” leaking some information to further their own interests at the bargaining table. Nobody believes in Colt McCoy that much.

Suppose they can’t come to terms on a deal and they do trade him. Then what? I can’t really see Colt McCoy as an acceptable bridge. There are likely to be some decent QB options on the market this year (Jay Cutler, Tyrod Taylor), but those guys aren’t any better than Cousins and they wouldn’t be that much cheaper. They could always draft a guy this year, too, but that’s even more of an unknown.

Or could Washington be planning a foray into the zany? Would they pursue Tony Romo if the Cowboys release him? Could they use a draft pick from trading Cousins to make a run at Jimmy Garoppolo?

The simplest explanation here is that this is just brinksmanship, two sides stumbling through the awkwardness of public negotiations. But Washington has restrained itself from acting irrationally for a couple of offseasons in a row now; they’re due for something stupid.

KC shouldn't be the highest paid QB or player in the NFL for 12 minutes. And I don't care that Houston fucked themselves and paid Osweiler's monkey ass what they did. Why should Houston's mistake ride anywhere beyond Houston? We have enough to deal with hand;ing problems/issues made by peeps in the Redskins organization.

I'm just gonna quote you though far what I think KC should be paid.

Pay him like the starter he is. Which is 19-22-1 overall in his career, and 17-14-1 over the last 2 seasons and 0-1 in the postseason and hopefully continuing to improve. Which would, theoretically anyway, be an even greater help in the continuation of the Skins building a team.

that is not the point. The original poster said Kc got better after each game. That is false. KC had a lot of bad games. Don't even get me started.
I said he has gotten better after each game 'on average'. Meaning his body of work indicates he has improved in every fascist of his game. I didn't mean it literally.

I'm not sure why you still don't get this. The highest paid has never meant the best, it represents the most recently signed. If Mathew Stafford's contract was up you would see a deal higher than Aaron Rodgers and nobody would consider Stafford the #1 QB.

The going rate for Kirk is in fact going to be the highest deal in the league because he is one of the top 10-15 QBs in the world and there is no viable replacement.

Wins and losses are the result of an entire teams effort. KC's play ability has vastly improved,,, his TD to INT ratio. His completion percentage,, his plays downfield over 20 yards. He leads the league, or is right up there in a lot of stat categories. Put a damn defense around him this year and were in the playoffs.. That Giant game would't have even mattered.

I understand it. I just don't believe KC belongs in this category. KC is not a better Qb than Staffford.

he put up 9 sacks , certainly that makes him a starter

Not disputing that. It will be interesting to see how he is used if and when Glattee gets on the field.

If Kirk hits on 2 of the 3 TDs passes he missed with a badly thrown pass each time in the first Dallas game. The Skins probably make the playoffs. If Hopkins hits a 34 yd or so FG in OT against Cincy the Skins probqably make the playoffs.

You're on point...to an extent far as noticeable improvement from KC is some areas stat-wise. In other areas though, not so much.

In 15 he had 29 TDs/11 INTs, last year he went for 25 TDs/12 INTs. The league average for TD passes for an NFL team last year was 24.56 TDs. His 25 TD passes placed him squarely in average territory. His red zone play dipped significantly and he threw some pretty bad INTs in at least 6 games. (Pitt, 1st Dallas game, both Philly games, Ari, 2nd NYG game)

And I'm not saying every loss last year was on Kirk, that's not the case. The entire team, including coaches, the defense, Hopkins, RBs, the OL, and even the WRs (which imo was the strongest aspect of the team last year) all fucked up at critical times in games that were there to be won by the Skins. Kirk fucked up as well though.

The late season crash, going 2-4 over the last 6 weeks, didn't inspire a whole lot of confidence either, at least not for all of us. The most troubling aspect about that month and half to me was the inability of any player particularly KC to come up with a big game or a big play to ignite a spark when the rubber hit the road.

8 sacks, and there were games when I thought hr was the Skins best pass rusher and best defensive player. We could use a couple more players having a season like Murphy did last year and I'm hopeful Murphy builds off what he did last year as well. Looking at his track record at Stanford I think the odds are pretty decent he will do just that.
