What a fucknut that guy is.

I don't know about 4.5 era's.... But I doubt he is going to be anywhere near his era of last year. My guess would be closer to the 3.8 era of 2011.I would have much rather had clippard than lowe. Lowe will have an ERA above 4.5 this year while clippard will have a 3.5 or lower. At least the tigs have made a concerted effort to address the pen this off-season tho so I can't complain. Although I think many rages will be had toward Mark Lowe from me.
Is Dexter Fowler a TypeA player? He would've been a better option that Maybin, if he's not.
He prolly is though, or wants a long deal.
Still woulda been better. No idea what Big Als hurry was to fill his roster with blah.

If he's TypeA then that's that.Fowler would cost a pick AND a contract large enough that he'd played full time, probably in LF. So - if Detroit had signed Fowler earlier, I doubt they would have signed Upton.
Fowler is clearly a better all around player. I wouldn't really say they are comparable. Maybe, but BF is pretty much superior in all areas. But I get why he's not on a roster with him being a TypeA.Maybin is only costing Detroit 5.5 mil and has a team option for 9 mil next year... Fowler costs a pick and much more money. They are comparable players... Maybin > Fowler at the price they got him.
There is no type a or type b anymore. If he's TypeA then that's that.
Not offering arb makes them a free agent early. Qualifying offers are for players past arb. If you don't offer arb you lose them for nothing. Tigers didn't offer arb to Feliz this year so they lost him for nothing... But he would have gotten more in the arb process than his worth hence not offering it. Players can't decline arb... They have to participate in the arb process if they are still under their arbitration years. Is there any difference between not offering a player arbitration (Like DD with Polanco.) and not offering them a qualifying offer? When it comes to compensation? Or conversely, by offering them arbitration(like Theo with VMart.) and them declining, or offering a qualifying offer (like Zimmerman in Waahington) and them declining? (Nobody gets another team's actual pick anymore, I got that part, I think.)
The Cubs offered Fowler a one year deal, so he's kinda screwed on getting a long one now. Since he isn't awesome.
He'd cost a fourth rounder for us, right? (Costing a Pick will be categorized as TypeA in my head for atleast another decade.) theoreticly
