THAT is why Detroit needs a GOOD 4th outfielder, one that plays CF well. If/when Maybin goes down, you have a good CF to bring in....not a AAAA like Collins.

I just don't see a major need to really shake things up.. giving this roster one more shot isn't the worst play... after 2017 tigers have more room to try to reframe things.

I agree, Collins sucks. Yes he is Left handed and does well defensively from a corner. But subpar as a CFer and has no bat.

He is great defensively... but if he is in the lineup he should be batting 9th... he was batting way to high in the lineup all year

I think he hit 8th most of the time. Idk.

He does run pretty well for a catcher, so hitting ninth isn't a big deal, but most managers aren't going to put their catcher regardless.

He and Salty drove in a lot of runs out of their slot, normally Eigth. Id like higher contact, but it could've been low average and less production.

Btw Vice I think I have to give you credit. Verlander was a stud this season! I think you were one of the few that thought he'd be 100% back after his struggles when many of us were doubting him.

Tigers spending will be on hold until next winter...just an opinion. They will have some contracts coming off the books and some holes to fill. Right now...patch holes and run with pretty much the same group of guys (and the young pitchers).

Honestly... if verlander can give one more season like this one and zimmerman can stay healthy... tigers rotation will probably be one of the better in the al. The lineup is going to be good as long as injury doesn't hit. I really don't see a reason to make major changes... if castellanos and zimmerman don't get injured i think the tigers would have won the central.
