Shut down Zimmermann already. He is obviously not healthy or not good. I did not agree with starting him either. He did not put up stellar numbers in his rehab assignments by my book either.

Best chance of getting rid of Clark.....Somehow the pieces of shit just don't get injured enough to miss games..........What does a 3B coach need to miss the rest of the season? Bump on a finger Iggy or Kinsler is out for two weeks, Clark hit by a line drive, the game doesn't miss a beat.

No pause, No commerical break, Clark jumps up and 2 seconds later a pitch is thrown and game on......We have to wait 10 mins for baseball to resume if a guy makes 10 mil a year........

Hey, Salty keeps up his strikeout terror, right now at 42% of his plate appearances. And a sizzling .179 BA. Great addition Al. Should have kept your boy cause this guy is terrible.

Not sure about that. Salty has stunk at the plate, but he came cheap, and he has stayed healthy. Neither would have applied if they had kept Avila Jr. But yes....Tigers will need to look for someone to replace Salty this winter, and improvement won't be too hard to do.

Time for the Wild Card run. Miggy and/or Vmart have to pick this team up and carry them for the next couple of weeks. The Twins can be taken for 3 of 4...then take 2 of 3 against Cleveland and they should be in the thick of the wild card race. But those 2 loses to the Orioles hurt.

I don't think we need to spend that kind of money on a catcher. McCann was hurt at the first of the year and is having an off season at the plate but he's a great catcher.

I'm fine with the same two catchers next year tbh. (Nothing coming off the books. Big increase in salary for a backup catcher isn't very likely.)

Neither will hit for average, but they are somewhat productive as hitters, for catchers. High contact isn't that big of a deal from the 8 spot. When there is some power when contact is made anyway.

Plus they both are good catchers.

I think Salty is history. Too many Ks and an awful BA. Detroit does not need to break the bank to find a back up catcher....plenty available who can provide decent defense and better offense than Salty, at a lower price.

Bring Avila Jr back on a minor league contract. :)
