Looks like the Tig's have packed it in for this season. Even with ALL the starters healthy, they still lack that killer instinct. How many RISP and LOB stats do you read? Ya, way too many.

At the start of yesterday's game, the announcers said the Tigers were batting .175 with RISP during their 3-10 skid. That's a great way to waste some pretty good starting pitching during that streak.

Fulmer (at 140 total innings) won't start until Saturday, after his poor start on Friday. Depending on their outcomes, I'm hoping for 5 more starts for Fulmer. If he skips a turn in the rotation....that would get him close to the end of the season.
Of course, being a negative guy, another start or two similar to Friday, and Detroit would have to reel him in.

Friday was only the second time since May 15 that Fulmer allowed more than 3 ER. In 11 of his 16 starts since then, he's allowed 0 or 1 runs. The "glass half full" guy would say he was just due for a clunker. The "glass half empty" guy may be concerned that he's hitting a wall, having never thrown this many innings in a season.

We shall see. His opponent Saturday (L.A. Angels) is not a very good team, and Fulmer owned them in the last meeting.

Twins and Angels this week. Combined 101-147 record (.407). 15th and 13th ranked pitching staffs, respectively. At a minimum, the Tigers need to win both series, though I'm hoping for even better.

Tim Tebow working out for MLB scouts today

I am looking forward to Mr. Illitch signing Tim Tebow to a 5 year $87mil contract this week. (Possible opt out clause for Tim? LOL)

The goal, as PizzaBoyII sees it, is to get Tyler Collins in left field, flashing the bird to the fans....while Tebow is "Tebowing" in right field. Of course Maybin will be in center grasping an injured hammy, thumb, or hemorrhoid.

''Teflon'' Muzz....bitches about everything the Tigers do....but gets the free pass.

FuckWad Iffy....gets sarcastic, and he gets the :finger2:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I posted this elsewhere....thought I'd put it here to piss people off:

...Detroit has two starting position players they drafted. McCann, a weak hitting defensive catcher...and Nick Castellanos. A poor fielding 3B who is getting a lot of praise for a "great" offense this season. However...if you look closer, No Range Nick actually lived off his super .365 BA month of April. In the following months he hit, 284, 273, and 260. Even a .100 in a brief August. So, what does Detroit expect from their 3B going into 2017?

Other drafted players (not counting Maybin): JV, along with three players who have spent a large amount of time at AAA....Kyle Ryan, Tyler Collins, Bruce Rondon. Piss poor sad!!!!

Now I know someone will say..."Yeah but we traded good young players to get Miggy!" When was that?

Anybody know the Tigers record with and without Maybin?

Seems like it must be much better with him. The offense is definitely better.

Nice start for Sanchez. 7 IP, only 94 pitches. His first road win since the first week of the season. He's really only had one clunker in his last 7 starts -- that 8-run debacle in Texas.

Did you know that Miggy ranks #49 on the All-Time Batting Average Leader list (.320) just behind Charles Gehringer? What is amazing is.....as old as I am....I have only seen/been alive to see FIVE of the players ahead of him on the list. Ted Williams (vague memory of seeing him play on TV), Tony Gwynn, Stan Musial, Wade Boggs, and Rod Carew.
