I don't think Id bother emphasizing anything.

He's a first ballot HOFer.

Maybe Id remind people he isn't one dimensional, for shits and giggles. Since my job would be pretty pointless in general.

OK...just don't bring up Miggy's FIP- (or is it a + ?)

Wow...I guess if you really think that if Miggy was in a drunken fight with his wife, or at a bar, TONIGHT...if would NOT be major news...I guess we are on two different worlds.
U are on a different planet....why the stupid scenarios.

It's what he does ... his whole life seems to be engulfed by it. Doug is entertaining, this guy has to find someone troll. Usually, I just ignore his dribble.

Shut up, Ned

oikly doikly?

I admit, I am really interested in Norris' start today. Can't expect a shutout. But I'd like to see at least 6 solid innings that gives the Tigers a chance to win. (Just don't want to see a Sanchez and have him get blown out in the second)

If Miggy doesn't choke...Tigers have a chance to pick up a game on Cleveland.

Any catchers down on the farm that we can call up in September? A collective .201 BA stinks.:hellno:

There isn't....but you don't drop a new catcher on a pitching staff, when you are in a playoff chase....unless there is an injury. McCann might not hit well, but he is a good defensive catcher that (I would guess) the pitching staff appreciates. Actually Salty isn't a bad defensive catcher either....although he could be replaced for a better bat. But the Tigers don't have one, don't have the resources to get one, so....ride it out with McCann and Salty, I guess.

espn was saying the AL East will probably have the wild card team. The Tigers need to win all of their games, or, Cleveland needs to go on a losing streak

Well, a walk and throwing error by Norris is the reason that first run scores on a sac fly. Needs to settle his ass down.

Good lord, now Cabrera exits the game. Tweaked his shoulder when the runner ran into his arm on the crappy Norris throw. This team is cursed.

Plenty of power from the 8 spot.

And they do their job behind the plate.

Yeah, they can't hit for average and they whiff way too much, but 19 HR from the catcher spot is decent...especially given the plus-defense.

Imo Sal Perez is no lower than third best catcher in baseball. And his OBP is .293. It a position you swing from, usually.

Not that McCann and Salty are ideal or anything. But they aren't really hurting the offense any from the 8 spot.

Hopefully Salty doesn't need to play first...

Look at it this way: Two guys who play premium defense at a premium defensive position have combined for 19 HR and 71 RBI. And the Tigers are paying both players at or near the MLB minimum.

$22 Million Man Justin Upton, who plays "okay" defense at a non-premium position, has 13 HR and 46 RBI.
